this is where having money in a bank vs having it hidden in your home comes into play..

The pros of having it in the home is that if you are in huge debt, they won't take it right out of your bank account to pay for it

The pros of having it in a bank is that it's in safekeeping and insured if the bank ever gets robbed.

The cons are obvious..again if it's in a bank and you are in debt, creditors can take money right from your bank account to pay it down...and the cons of having it home is if it ever gets stolen by someone, even if it was a family member, friend or just a plain thief, it'll be very hard and likely never be recovered if that happens and you're out of luck.

I have around $50 in cash in my house. Its not hidden, its on my nightstand. I was working for tips up until march, and I paid my parents rent every month in cash. That's just what happens to be left after I paid my dad for april's rent that i never got around to depositing or spending because I've rarely left the house since.

I don't have enough to bother to try to get a bank account.

About 3k but my bank is an hour away so I dont want to drive just to deposit
