I am very glad that I bought this game for $4. If I had purchased it upon release for $60 plus tax, I would be far more disappointed. The game is incredibly short. My final time clocked at around 7 hours or so and that's with the Platinum trophy. Entire chapters were just cutscenes. The player is given no incentive to replay the game at all unless they really want to give Hard mode a spin if they haven't done so on the first playthrough.

The gameplay is very generic and uninspired. It feels like a huge afterthought instead of being one of the main draws of the game. The science weapons are neat but other games have done the concepts better such as the Wunderwaffe DG-2 in Call of Duty. Every encounter in the game plays out the same. Take cover and eliminate the enemies. Oh, a shotgunner? Kill him first since he's approaching in the open without taking cover. There's so few enemy types in the game. It's painful. The developers really should have taken advantage of the folklore elements. We had werewolves. We should have been able to fight vampires and other creatures as well.

The story felt underdeveloped and ended up being disappointing despite having potential. This universe of steampunk London where you have Knights at the Round Table fighting Half Breeds or basically creatures from fairy tales is cool. However, there's no real payoff at the end. Most of the twists and story beats can be guessed from a mile away. I'd like for this universe to be fleshed out but that will probably never happen.

Voice acting is pretty good. Too good for this game. The graphics and visuals are very good as well as the production value. I'm not going to be a huge stickler for level design as this is a linear game. Soundtrack is unremarkable.

I wish I spent that $4 on ice cream instead.

Where'd you get it for $4? I always wanted to try it, but after hearing about it, I won't spend more than...well I guess a few bucks. I've seen it for around $8 and thought that was way too high. I'm surprised I haven't seen it on sale for 3.

Did you notice that the last boss is just the first boss with a different skin? It's the exact same QTE sequence.

I remember the gunplay and weapons actually really good and satisfying. And the setting up badass. Unfortunately it ended up being far too short and I remember the story didn't end up being that good either. If it was a better designed 18 hour story like Uncharted and had some actual replay like unlockables and some online it could've been awesome.

I haven't played, but seen people play it even to be ending.

The ending is a gun shot cut to black.

That's just...ugh. Seems like the game had some cool ideas world building wise, but it all got squandered.

Its a good game, not even sure what the amount of hours has to do with it being enjoyable. Its its the best/most revolutionary game on the PlayStation 4? No. But its fun for the amount of time that the player puts into it.

This game has been out for quite some time now, and everyone knows that its short, youre a bit late to the party telling people things that everyone already knows.

If youre so bent out of shape over losing $4, maybe you should have downloaded it when it was free on PS+ way back when or have some sort of priorities about how you spend your money.

Length has a lot to do with it. This is a 7-8 hour game with absolutely zero replay value. Charging this game for full price on release is a rip off especially when entire chapters in the game were just cutscenes. Look at The Last of Us. Single player is 12-15 hours on standard difficulty and then Grounded difficulty changes how you approach encounters vastly due to how the mechanics of the game works. If you want to pay $60 for a short game that youll never touch ever again, good for you. When some of us buy video games, we dont want to finish it and never touch it again after a weekend.

Yes, I know when this game came out. I never said or implied my observations were original. When speaking about anything, no matter how old it is, its okay to talk about some of the more obvious points. Regardless of whether or not you agree, I am allowed to speak about whatever I desire since these are my overall thoughts on the game.

Lastly, the $4 part was a joke. Its a little concerning that I have to clarify on that for you. Funny how you caught my complaints about the obvious shortness of the game but you couldnt catch an obvious joke, my guy.

It was a sale on PSN from a while back. Ive had it on my hard drive for quite some time now and decided to play it since I needed to free up some space.
