Ghost of tsushima will likely do better ultimately, but everyone and their mom already knows the last of us 2 spoilers and has lost interest. It'll still sell well I'm sure, but not like the first game, and not be talked about as favorably.

I don't think you're legally required to do this. Almost everyone in professional space does it out of mutual respect.

Of course what they did with True Faith wasn't really a cover of a cover. It was the same fucking song wholesale with a slightly different tempo.

Mandalorian Season 2 is coming soon and they literally just announced that Taika Waititi movie. Also, Episode 9 was a way bigger disaster than TLJ or Solo.

The game certainly won't bomb by any metric, but I imagine it won't live up to Sony's high end projected numbers. It'll still be a top seller doubtless though.

I would be fine if the trend of somber covers of pop music in commercials would go away.
