You point out to someone that they did something wrong, and they get their panties in a bunch because they don't like to hear a difference in opinion. Basically 99% of people today: "If you're not with me you're against me".

TC posts things like this in threads about people here being beaten at peaceful marches

So you stayed outside even though it was against the law? Then you are angry because you got beat? Thats the definition of ignorance. The curfew is there for a reason. Its reason is to stop the VIOLENT riots that happen right after your peaceful protest. Those violent riots have caused damage to those close to me, quit being an ASSHOLE.

Oh my lord.. It's like I made this topic, and the type of people I'm referring to are waving their hands showing the world the ignorance I'm speaking about. Thank you all I guess? You proved my point.

There is no action to be taken as I did nothing wrong? You're proving my point, when you disagree with someone you make an enemy of them, thats immature.

Yes, I still agree with my statements, as do millions of others. I was at multiple protests, what's your point? I simply left before curfew. We can protest all we want, but staying past curfew aids in the violent things that have been happening, and I don't stand for that. You're encouraged to show up every day and protest until late, because if you're out late you are guilty by association in helping the bad guys do bullshit at night thats violent. The cops are trying to stop bad people, you're making it harder for them. I'm not sure what is so difficult in your entitled mind to understand that. My close friend's business got destroyed, and he's black. He's talked more shit about this than any white man I know. Some of you have serious inexperience in the real world.

I almost laughed out loud at how perfect your posts demonstrated the ignorance you're SPEWING that I am referring to with this topic. This is gold.

Generally I would agree with you TC. But not in this case.

Disagreeing with these protests is ignoring/not caring about the abuse black people get from police. You're pretty much racist if you don't agree with what it stands for.

In most other cases I agree that a lot of people are snowflakes that can't handle a different opinion.

Then all the men of the city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall purge the evil from your midst, and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

Luke 15:11-32
Jesus continued: There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his father, Father, give me my share of the estate. So he divided his property between them.
Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.
When he came to his senses, he said, How many of my fathers hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants. 20 So he got up and went to his father.
But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
The son said to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.
But the father said to his servants, Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Lets have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found. So they began to celebrate.
Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. Your brother has come, he replied, and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.
The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. But he answered his father, Look! All these years Ive been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!
My son, the father said, you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.

Uh, yeah and since the protests and riots started across the US, people have been getting more brash with their bullshit too. TWO times, in the last 3 days, I saw 2 fuckin people get their lives ruined (fired from their job, and made out to be racist across social media platforms) because while they initially were disgusted with that cops actions, and supported the movement/protests...once the criminal activity started, they spoke against the rioting, burning, and looting, saying it was deplorable. Both instances (which were completely unrelated, separate unrelated people) some asshole (not even black!!...either time!!) twisted what they said, and got tons of other people on the bandwagon. They were blatantly twisting what they said toothey knew itand were only doing so because they didnt like their take on the protests (I use parentheses because the mob was calling rioting burning and looting, protests).

The social divide just keeps growing and growingand over the dumbest shit too. I have no idea where we will be 6 months from now as a country. Shit is starting to really bother me.

Only a sith deals in absolutes...

In all seriousness though...seriously? Those are not the only two categories. This situation is very, VERY nuanced. Basically ALL of America stood up and said Floyd was murdered, and the police brutality has gone far enough. This is why protests spanned from one coast to the other, and everywhere in between.

Once people started rioting, and burning the police precinct down, most of America still lined up on mostly the same side. Some may have looked down on that particular action, but just about everyone understood, and nobody said much.

It wasnt until the riots stopped targeting government establishments like courthouses, precincts, etc., and began targeting small businesses, and places where people lived, and make their living, that Americans began to split on the issueand just because you oppose the idea of burning all of America to the ground, doesnt mean youre an establishment bootlicker, bending over for the government or the police. It just means theyve recognized people that dont deserve to be fucked over, are getting fucked over, and want that specific aspect of the movement to check itself, and stick with their original plans.

If the people rioting were just hitting heads with the police and the government, and left citizens and businesses out of it, this thing would still be moving full steam, with no stop in sight.

People are really too fucking sensitive these days.

I have to hear right wing rhetoric daily, but I know if I even speak my beliefs people would just get mad and not listen. Not worth the trouble.

first: you zoomed in on one minor detail so much that you completely missed the point of my post

second: destruction of property (including buildings and businesses) is a demonstrably effective tactic for protest

So you and everyone else just likes to forget that an innocent baby burned alive in one of these buildings that the protesters set ablaze? And then they blocked the firefighters from being able to get to the fire and extinguish it... That an old lady got beat up by 2x4s as well as her husband because they defended their business.. That a young guy tried defending his business and chased away the harassers with a sword and had a brick dropped on his head and beat up to an unconscious point. Because when you support these riots, and violence, you are also supporting the killing and destruction of innocent lives Ive mentioned above. All true stories that made the news, and thousands like it that didnt... You dont get to pick and choose, support the good stuff but overshadow the bad stuff. These riots have a FILTHY side effect that comes with them, and if you are in favor of it because you think its an effective way to fight racism; not only are you wrong.. But you are just as sick as racist people. You are what you hate.

Pretty sure i saw a thing that the man with the sword died too. There have been multiple fatalities and violent assaults, along with all the destruction.

But ive also seen actual footage of cops beating people with batons who are standing there, pepper spraying them in the face while prone, shooting people with rubber bullets and paintballs.

Tbh its shaken me up a bit, because... If you created the most volatile response possible in a lab, it would be what some of the cops have done. Seriously, they couldnt have played into the oppression rhetoric worse if they tried. And ive seen the rioters acting like savages and being violent and hurting people and destroying. And ive seen cops kneeling and marching eith protestors, and good protestors tackling rioters. There is no black and white take here, its very gray.

This is some of the craziest shit i have ever seen in my life, 2020 in general. Also interesting is both sides are fanning the flames on Twitter, pushing their sides narrative. Like leftists will show peaceful protestors being hurt or threatened, and the right shows rioters and then cops comforting people. But in all seriousness, the overwhelming approval is on the side of the protestors and leftists, as far as twitter goes. That has to be mentioned. The old boomers who arent on twitter are probably disgusted and outraged at the riots.

The hacker group Anonymous is very active on Twitter, and they are actually fanning the flames bad. They are absolutely basking in the chaos, theres some legit unhinged, angry leftists out there and they have more support than youd think. But if a civil war happened, it would be a fucking bloodbath and i dont see the left winning that. Not even close tbh.

Yeah. I agree with basically everything you've said. This is definitely some of the craziest shit, if not THE craziest i've ever seen.

We're definitely more divided now than we have ever been, which i didnt think was possible after COVID, but here we are. I have no idea where the fuck we will be in 6 months. Legitimately, i can normally imagine my life a little further into the future--goals i've set, upcoming events, etc.--i cant honestly imagine any of that right now. Everything seems so uncertain. I thought 2020 couldnt really get worse, and it fuckin took my expectations of ''worse'' and butt raped them 100 times.
