Let's say she'll not even bother working once the kids are older. She'll do the house chores that's about it along with raising kids.

My current income couldn't support us + the kids, so no.

I want to agree, but at my age, this is going to be a reality I have to face if I want to date women my own age (or even younger).

You mean someone who plans to become a stay at home mom once the two of us have kids?

Ehh, I'd rather not. Especially if they plan to stay home even after the kids are older. Like, at that point it seems like they're a stay at home wife.

It's not that I don't see the value in them being a stay at home mom, but I don't know..I guess I find it weird.

Only if she does literally everything at home, meaning I dont have to lift a finger ever. All cooking, all cleaning, all chores, kid stuff, everything. I just work and make the money.

Honestly, Id prefer it. Daycare and crap messes up kids. If she could solely focus on helping them with school and taking care of them, itd be a good thing.

Im also more traditional.

The main issue I have with dating a stay at home mother is that is you ever get into a major disagreement she can leave you and take more than half your belongings, due to "being adjusted to a lifestyle of not working", which I've seen numerous times in courtroom situations. A working mother at least isn't stuck not being able to find a job.

If you can make it work, more power to you, but I wouldn't want to be the breadwinner in a family. I'd want it to be 50/50.

Depends. Is her former husband paying 6 figures in alimony and child support? Then if she's cool, yes. Otherwise, no, fuck dating anyone unemployed.

I feel like it takes a good amount of trust for a married couple to go with the stay at home lifestyle. If I was a stay at home dad, I'd have to trust that I wouldn't become destitute if my wife decided to leave me. Mainly due to lack of work experience. Ya, things like alimony exists, but I wouldn't want to depend on that.

I'd be the same way. Sadly some courts don't see it this way.
