Potential conviction, looming divorce, and recognition that your actions sparked a national spiral into chaos can do that.

First two guaranteed, at least.

Because you can't call him a murderer until he's convicted.

Open case.

Yes, it was on video, and we all know he did it, but most likely just legal caution to avoid potential slander lawsuits until he is convicted in court.

Cant really go into the article right now but I know there was a topic about this earlier and it wasnt really confirmed, it was like a, looks like a duck talks like a duck walks like a duck situation where people noticed him being checked on but there was no official word of him being on watch.

If he is legit on watch they better change the rules to every 5 minutes or something to make sure he stays alive to sit in that cell for his term.

Fair enough. Thought the video was enough.

Hell for all we know there's some kind of kill switch implanted in him. He need him alive and contained.

So you would rather the government spend $20k a year over say 40+ years to keep him alive in prison?

For 99% for cases, no.
For this particular high profile case, yes. He needs to be made an example of.

Lol where did you hear that?
Police officers when incarcerated are never put in general population. They're always segregated in their own units

If they were wrongly incarcerated, then wouldn't they get released? Wrongfully arrested is not the same as wrongfully convicted.

He'll be kept in segregation with an officer logging every action he does every 15 min.
He'll never come into contact with another inmate. If they ever need to move him so he can speak with his lawyer, the correctional officers will freeze movement just for him.

But He'll have to deal with the mental and emotional stress being in remand and possibly being sent to prison.

I can't speak for them.
I work as a correctional officer in my facility and am basing how we dealt with a police officer who shot and killed someone that was deemed excessive and that's how we operated

how much latitude do these officers have? Can they turn on the tv for him or give him cheeseburgers or chat with him? I hope not

Depends on the facility.
Segregation is where i imagine they'd keep him unless they want to open an entire unit just for him.

Usually seg is barebones. No television. Bringing in outside food for inmates is a no-no. It's considered contraband. I'd imagine the co's won't risk bringing it in to avoid the other inmates beside him in their cells getting enraged.

Its pretty sad that just because he was a cop that he gets special protection and treatment in jail. I guess they know if he was put into general population that he would be beat up or killed.
