A police officer chokes a black man to death and they talk about underlining health conditions. Yes, stay healthy. Because it's your fault when you aren't healthy enough to survive a prolonged assault by police.

The fact that this officer did nothing when told that George Floyd had no pulse removes *any* potential for doubt as to this officer's actions.

I think any doubt towards the officer's actions went away a couple days ago when people put together a wrap sheet of his history.

It's insulting to say that George Floyd did not die of strangulation and had underlining health issues. He just *happened* to have a case of sudden death while an officer was sitting on his neck for eight minutes.

It's like getting struck by a meteor while in handcuffs. Pure coincidence. And it had nothing to do with a man sitting his knee on the back of a man's neck for eight minutes. I'm sure this otherwise compassionate officer would've removed his knee had the victim not continued "resisting." (Side note: breathing apparently constitutes resisting.)

They gave the flimsy excuse that Floyd had resisted arrest and that we didn't see that portion of the confrontation.

If a man had punched a police officer, if a man had pulled a knife on a police officer, there would still be no justification for killing a man in cold blood after he had been neutralized. Handcuffed and face down, a man is a danger to no one. There is no missing piece of video that could justify what happened. A badge doesn't entitle you to kill a person in custody.

In the Garner case the ME for the state said he died due to compressions to the neck, and they still blamed everything else that came with it.

Edited to add.

That pissed me off as well. After they started chocking him all he did was lift his hands and people use that to justify his murder.

Yeah, this.

I don't get where they get the idea that "oh he resisted at one point so I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO KILL HIM"

if your first instinct as an officer is to kill, you don't deserve to be part of the general population anymore let alone an officer of the law

They also have a bullshit statement in the police report that he "later died" when they knew he didn't have a pulse while they were there.

How many push ups do I need to do daily to survive a police officer keeping his knee on my neck for 10 minutes?

I could just imagine someone being like, "The brain doesn't cease functioning until six or seven minutes after the body has stopped functioning. It's a technicality, but we may be able to spin it to say that he died later."

Hopefully not. Nothing changed after that. Shit's just going to keep getting worse the more this happens.
