It was definitely a couple of red dots pointed at the ground in front of me. I can say that when I was there earlier there were national guard looking (don't know for a fact, looked more armyish than cop) people hanging out behind the line of riot cops. They looked like they had rifles. The riot cops had like these baton looking things and some of them had like some sort of bean bag gun or other less than lethal weapon. When I looked across the field from the back end of the park I was very far away from the crowd of police. Like 300+ feet easily. Makes me think it could have been a rifle, because I don't think less than lethal stuff has a ton of range. Hard to see something that far away and be too certain of what is going on. I just saw enough to say nope. I'm here to observe and report. I don't know how to say this exactly, but it looks like the best thing is to just let the city burn. This relationship between the police and the public is just so completely broken. The powers that be have broken their end of the deal way too many times and expectations of civility from many in the public is just unrealistic now.
