brilliant or most reliable scientists to combat the soviet union during the COLD WAR because they totally trusted the Soviet sources during it?

germany had brilliant minds with respect to science, industry, humanities, military science

but central planning will be central planning - single point of failure with respect to decision-making (see: absolute dictatorship) that ultimately brought the entire country to total ruin

Nobody but shitposters like you who want to bait people into praising Nazis says "The nazis were smart".

Intelligent people agree that the Nazis either had or forced some of the greatest minds of the time to work for them.

Why are you self censoring

Nazis were evil but nazi scientists are responsible for a lot of our current scientific knowledge. Of course they were smart.

The dirty secrect is we went to the moon because of Nazi rocket scientists. Wernher von Braun was SS and him and his colleagues spearheaded the Apollo projects.

I mean, nazis were people. Some of them were smart and some were dumb.

That said, german science and engineering was pretty cutting edge in the 30s and 40s. A nazi rocket scientist lead the United states to putting a man on the moon.

The soviets were ruled by a dictator and destroyed the germans though
  • hitler initially relied on the wisdom of his generals, and then began to micromanage things in a counterproductive manner, leading to some major strategic/logistical blunders contributing to the collapse of his war effort.
  • stalin initially dismissed the wisdom of his generals, but eventually began to let them do their thing, leading to the tide of war turning and their steamrolling of the nazis.
  • soviets had a higher population, more raw materials at their disposal and land for regrouping, and extensive allied support with respect to supplies, munitions, etc. they were also seemingly willing to conscript anyone - including minors and the elderly - something the nazis only resorted to towards the end of the war.
  • scorched earth and the russian winter
  • nazis had to divert troops to support italy's poorly executed campaigns in the mediterranean

tl;dr both were dictatorships, but the soviets were not spread nearly as thin with respect to the scope of their activities during ww2, and wised up to letting the generals do their jobs as effectively as possible, while the opposite was the case with the nazis.

just cause people are evil doesn't make them dumb. it doesn't work that way. like someone else said, nazis were like any other people. some were smart some were dumb. some were run of the mill. anyway, it's well documented that hitler often ignored advice. lots of the biggest mistakes in the war were mistakes caused by Hitler. he had a big ego and often felt he knew what was best and didn't really care what other people's opinions were

1) war with Russia was going to happen and Russia was preparing for it.

2) Russia had just purged its military staff and had a really embarrassing war with Finland

3) Germany had defied all odds and defeated Europe within a short span vs the German empire(way more powerful than nazi Germany by far) could not even do. Lets not forget, Russia got owned in WW1 too lol

4) The Nazis didnt even consider the Russians human so you have that fake confidence boost

Looking at all these points, do you blame them for invading Russia now?

what an absolutely abhorrent post

to have a basic grasp of the history of the conflict does not make someone a nazi, and that you have resorted to fallacious mudslinging in the absence of a proper rebuttal indicates your motivations with respect to this topic were disingenuous and that you perhaps needn't be engaged with respect to discussion
