I don't know why this popped in my head, but I started to think about him early in his career and comparing him to some of the great film directors of all time. He's had two outrageous hits (Braid, The Witness) and takes a lot of time to make his vision. He's not pumping out games every three years like a big developer, and can get to the status of a Tarantino or Kubrick in that when his next game comes out it's almost an 'event'.

I know a lot of this is hyperbole but he's one of the only devs who has a clear vision and will work for years to accomplish it to critical acclaim.

so you're saying you're a fan of his work and the process he does it? that you're a hardcore fan of the Blow job method of game design?

I prefer Lucas Pope to Blow if you are going down the indie path.

I'm not a fan of his games personally, but I appreciate the work he puts into them.

When I first read this topic I thought of Phil Fish in my head for some reason instead, and was about to call you a crazy person.

Blow's games have stopping power for sure, but I think they lack the staying power to even begin entering him into this conversation. Even The Witness feels like it drew significantly less attention than Braid, and you hardly hear either of them getting talked about at all anymore.

Of course you may be right and these first two big hits of his may one day be looked upon as the "early work" of a then-legendary figure, but there's little more reason to think he'll reach those heights than there is for plenty of indie devs.
