Is it ok for them to be unleashed?
Vote
I've been told that a lot of these dogs are just trying to have fun, but come on. I shouldn't have to GUESS if the dog is chasing me for the lulz or if it's trying to take a chunk outta my ass. Americans have an insane amount of love for dogs and I know quite a few white girls that would rather feed a homeless person to their dog rather than have it be hungry for more than an hour. But I CAN'T be alone on this, right? --- If you're only on this board to whine about "SJWs", please redirect whatever you type on to the nearest trash can. And hop in after it. ... If they're not fenced in then they should be on a leash.

If you respect that your dog is an animal, it should be leashed. Even the most well trained dog might chase a random rabbit one day into the street and get bit by a car.
If its fenced in, all good. --- FC: SW-8288-8096-1115 ... Copied to Clipboard!

I go out front with my dog unleashed but he's been trained how to behave out there since he was a puppy. He'll return or go back inside on command.
I also bring him back in if anyone is coming by that I'm not sure how he'll react towards. ... Copied to Clipboard!

My dog treats the street like it's lava unless on a leash and I've stepped into it first. Should never let your dog off leash unless you are 100 percent certain they won't go in the street. ... They ought to leashed or fenced in (electrically or otherwise). I'm deathly afraid of dogs and once a couple years ago I was just out walking and one got really growly and snarly at me and it actually got off its lawn and started making its way toward me. I was practically petrified.

Depends on the environment. No prob if the dogs out there and supervised. Most cases, yeah keep it in a fenced back lawn

I not that long ago had next door neighbors who frequently left their dog outside to roam the neighborhood, and it would frequently come into our yard, one time it barked directly outside of my first-floor bedroom window at 4 in the morning. when we told them to keep their dog inside or on a leash they did not care
I was pretty close to calling animal control, but I didn't want to because we were kind of scared of the neighbors for reasons (long story) so we dragged our feet. They fortunately moved away, much to my delight. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Our next door neighbors dog frequently gets out and they have had the cops and animal control called on them a few times.
It's a pitbull and when it gets out it will be very barky at people and comes across as aggressive. Really it's soft though because whenever I see it, I just walk towards it and tell it to go home. It keeps barking but keeps moving back home as I walk towards it. Most people would be (rightfully) scared of it. I don't think it has ever bitten anyone, it's just territorial. But yes dogs should be leashed. I have a 75lb Australian Shepherd (so bigger than the norm) and no way would I let him roam. That's what the backyard is for. Sometimes I'll let him off leash in the park (and not very often) but only if there's nobody else around or if we are with people we know. As soon as anyone else is around, he instantly goes back on the leash. The park at the end of our road is very small and has very little foot traffic. I wouldn't do it at a bigger park. ...
