I like Harrison Ford.

Holy crap this movie takes place in Nov 2019? Lol that's insane how much more advanced the 80s thought we'd be

Good film. Watch the sequel, it really lived up to the first one imo.

Great movie that actually aged very well. The mood, the music, the visuals are astonishingly good. You're in for a treat.

On netflix it's called blade runner: the final cut.

What the hell is going on in this movie.

A great deal of the higher up people that worked in the film could never be quite satisfied with what they made, so much so that theres like 4 or 5 different cuts of the film.

Final Cut is the director's ultimate version. Don't watch the theatrical until after you see that one, unless you're in the mood for a shitty voiceover that the producers added last second because they thought us dumb moviegoers would be "confused"

I wish there was an additional version that was the final cut, but without the unicorn scene.

maybe i would have enjoyed it more if i watched it back then.

now i barely have the patience for its sloooooooooooooooooow pacing which isn't an unpopular opinion.

What a weird movie. I liked it conceptually, a scifi neo noir, the idea of robots/androids that just want to live and be free, these are all great ideas that a lot of other shows and movies have portrayed well in the 40 years since this movie.

It just feels like a concept of a movie that never got fully realized or explored. The idea of replicants trying to live life, what's real or not real, the experiences and memories that make up a person. Hell that speech at the end with the robot could have been the basis for an entire movie in and of itself.

Instead its just a lot of slow paced weirdness. I'm excusing the movie because it was in 1982, and the nuance of cinema has not nearly advanced to what it is now, so for 40 years ago it's (relatively speaking) pretty brilliant.

Ford force kissing the replica was weirdly rapely. I kept wondering if they were gonna pull something like "Ford was the replica this whole time!" but shyamalan didnt exist yet so guess not.

I was kind of ehhhh on Blade Runner the first time I saw it, but I never saw the director's cut

I thought the sequel that came out a couple years ago was an even better movie tbh

The sequel deals a lot more with "What does it mean to be". There's multiple sub plots about it.
