When I was a schoolboy, one of my dear, dear friends was inordinately fond of absurd hypotheticals.

Imagine, he would say. If we were all sitting here in the cafeteria eating our lunch when suddenly aliens came down and announced that The Creep was their prince, but was accidentally left here as a baby and he was going to lead the invasion. Hahaha, what would you do?

He was also inordinately fond of demonstrating moves he learned playing Hybrid Heaven on the Nintendo 64. I shall always remember (with a few gaps and some fuzziness regarding the details) the day he decided to demonstrate some rolling throw that lead to yours truly bashing the back of his head against a countertop.

I see a lot of protesters on facebook saying the government is lying to everyone. I disagree with them of course, but imagine if they were the ones correct.

maybe I'm dumb and misread the topic but i don't get it. but if they falsified the numbers to be much higher than they actually were then wouldn't that be worse? like there's still the same amount of deaths and if the actual cases were much lower than reported then that means that the death rate of this virus is significantly higher
