I remember people, including the guys who made it, commenting that the whole Trump candidacy thing felt like the US was moving closer to the depiction of the future presented in Idiocracy.

Now that we've had this fucking clod for almost the entirety of his term, how much closer to that satirical future does reality seem like?

• Other politicians have followed his lead and don't even pretend to have an ounce of decorum while tossing out insults at each other that you would hear on CE or on a grade school playground
• Literal president of the United States shitposts on Twitter every single day and has a super weird hateboner for Obama that also adds to him being unable to act like mature adult
• Behavior defended by shills who thinks [insert any action you can possibly think of here] is an example of why Trump won and will win again
• Goto meal for visitors at the White House is fast food garbage
• Everything is fake news because they don't like thing
• Most obvious nepotism I've ever seen ever
• People being appointed for positions they obviously are not qualified for but that doesn't matter since it's a popularity contest

• Can't ask babby "tough" questions at press conferences because he'll cry about it and then end it
• Unironically asking about shining UV light inside your body to fight a virus, and acting like a mule regarding a drug that medical experts have repeatedly said does more harm than good for this virus (see "fake news" bullet)

Seems pretty close aside from wearing a bandana and waving around assault rifles at press conferences

The president suggested injecting cleaning products to combat a virus outbreak. His supporters vehemently defended these comments and expressed that they had been taken out of context, or that the president was speaking in parables, or he was just making suggestions, or it was a joke. Shut up liberals.

If you remember the movie, the big joke at the end is that they had a food crisis because the government thought spraying crops with gatorade would work.
