That said, some of Record of the Lodoss War would probably be great as a LA film. Plus I guess now that some of Junji Ito's stuff was adapted in the Junji Ito collection, those same stories could be done as a LA. Then again, I think some of my favorite Junji Ito stories (like the "Black Paradox" series) haven't even been adapted for manga. PatrickMahomes posted... And even assuming that they do magically get it right for purposes of this, most of the really beautiful prospects already look beautiful in their current state as well. A properly and well-done series of movies based on Ghost in the Shell could be pretty awesome, is about all I've got. Maybe Golgo-13 too (I wouldn't even mind them spinning him into a more good-guy sort of assassin-mercenary if they got the rest right). Then again, it might be amusing to try and see Hollywood try and bumble their way through that one about reincarnating as a slime. Seems like a great mix of all the things that would stump Hollywood producers. A main character who isn't human, and isn't just in a setting where animals talk to each other or something. A protagonist whose internal monologues are important to things and would need to be left in and done properly. Lots of fantasy, magic, and other fun stuff mixed with some things that are unexplained enough that most producers would come to their preferred conclusion based on early material and just alter the setting to that. . --- I am the Hunter of Topics. Most of the anime I like is either sci-if or fantasy, which would necessitate a massive budget to work remotely well without looking shitty, and I'm not sure the end result would work really well. Another one could be Psycho Pass as a good sci fi movie. The problem is that over the top highly unrealistic stuff doesn't translate well to live action.
