19 y/o Lacey Mathis, a North Carolina Cheerleader for William and Mary College said she battled COVID-19 for 2 MONTHS after contracting it during a basketball tournament in March!!

She tested positive after getting it while cheerleading at a game where an outbreak occurred after suffering symptoms following that game

She said "It's been 58 days since i first had my fever" and over time she had sleepiness, a sustained fever and loss of taste and smell and that's without any underlying pre-existing conditions as she also got a sinus and kidney infection...

Lacey said "Where the cheerleaders ahve to sit is very tight quarters. They're close to the fans, close to the players, close to the refs so it really could have been anywhere or anybody"

Originally thought to have been just travel fatigue, it got worse along the way and finally got tested for the virus as she said the loss of taste and smell was the worst of it all as well sleeping a lot

On the 50th day after initial testing, it was STILL in her body as she described it overwhelming and frustrating that made her depressed being sick all the time and only wanting to sleep

Her mother Lisa has been hard at work sanitizing the entire home as she awaited her recovery

Her fever is finally subsiding as she's crossing her fingers on a recovery soon but isn't gonna break out the glass bottle yet as the mother and daughter haven't been able to get close since

She will continue to quarantine with her cat, Bernini as the rest of the finally thankfully doesn't have the virus and her recovery from the virus is finally coming to an end
