Not trolling, I firmly believe other alien life has discovered us, observed us, how vile we are and were pretty much like "Naw, fuck this" and had no interest in first contact.
Look at humans as a whole and tell me if you are another race of alien, would you be in a hurry to come to earth and be among us? We are a horrible species. I'm entirely convinced we would be viewed as a race of cockroaches to a higher, intelligent being. --- Ten million dollars on a losing campaign, Twenty million starving and writhing in pain. ^ reminds of the They're Made Out of Meat short story:
The two characters are intelligent beings capable of traveling faster than light, on a mission to "contact, welcome and log in any and all sentient races or multibeings in this quadrant of the Universe." Bisson's stage directions represent them as "two lights moving like fireflies among the stars" on a projection screen. One of them tells the incredulous other about the recent discovery of carbon-based lifeforms "made up entirely of meat". After conversing briefly about it, they both deem such beings and communication with them too bizarre and agree to "erase the records and forget the whole thing", marking the Solar System "unoccupied".[5] https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/They're_Made_Out_of_Meat --- b-bb-box ... This is what I feel is the most logical explanation. Any UFOs that are seen are probably just black budget tech.
Anything could be possible though. Especially if you consider the possibility of a species having billions of years of evolution on us. Maybe they've been here before. Maybe they never left. Maybe they're inter or extra dimensional beings. Maybe they are us, but from the future (sounds lol-worthy but it's a plausible theory according to one model of space travel). Maybe we're in an alien simulation right now. There's so many things to contemplate or imagine. Our understanding of physics could also be totally wrong or we could have major holes in it. Like how we use dark matter and dark energy to explain the vast majority of the universe which isn't observable to us. --- "We know things can move faster than the speed of light because liberal tears are on the ground before something offensive even happens" - Coffeebeanz ... i doubt life is so special that it only exist on earth, i'm guessing ETs are too far away or too primitive (like they're still in bacteria or small creature state)

I really don't get this mindset. Even if they were more advanced, they would likely have started out the same as us. --- How's my posting? Maybe there have been civilizations on other planets, but their suns exploded, or an asteroid hit them, or their planet lacked the resources to sustain them before they could leave the galaxy.
