Apparently battle rap is still a thing which is hard for me to believe (I mean not really but dang its for geriatrics)
I saw on reddit some people were making fun of okwerdz for quitting and I was like, this dude is ghost writing for real rappers and dropping tracks with method man... TF do you think is the point of battle rapping? --- But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. ... I'm not too knowledgeable about rap, but would you say that blog era rap filled a gap between ringtone rap and party rap? Like, between Soulja Boy's Crank Dat and Chris Brown's Hoes Ain't Loyal or Jason Derulo's Wiggle?

Like, between Soulja Boy's Crank Dat and Chris Brown's Hoes Ain't Loyal or Jason Derulo's Wiggle? Ehhh Id say no, cause a lot of this was going on at the same time. To a certain extent Id consider soulja boy a blog rapper, granted he was way ahead of the curve it was primarily 16-25 year olds right around that time frame who where the first to really use the internet as a way to push their music to the masses. Most the artist from that time where inspired by Kanye and Wayne and regional stuff specific to them. With that new found freedom from the internet and Kanyes influence almost everyone was able to carve out their own sound by being themselves Because it was no streaming at the time artist would post their albums of dat piff or similar websites and hope that people listened, mainly though word of mouth. --- we rich now but used to be slaves,we pushing whips now we used to be whipped, rockin chains when we used to be in 'em ... I agree with this. Though No Ceilings was literally perfect.Tbh these days Wayne still puts out like half a good record every time he drops one hard to stay so consistent when youre as prolific as he has been.
