Or did you pay professionals to do it? Im thinking about getting someone who actually know what they're doing so I cand land a job.

Also, where can I get career advice other than a videogame website?

I did my own, yes, and got feedback from friends and family. Depending on the context I would also ask for feedback from relevant people e.g. past professors. CVs are generally easier because youre encouraged to list every detail of your academic / professional life with no maximum page count.

Career advice depends on what your career is. If youre currently in university then they usually have career advice centres (and writing centres to help with resumes and CVs, I never used one though). If youre an alumni then you might still be able to make use of those facilities but Im not sure.

All the ones I ever wrote were hot garbage.

Then I got a copy of my friends resume who has identical experience and background and edited it with my information.

Id consider it.

Mine sucked ass. I'm a creative writer, but I suck at formats. I saw one of my grandpa's employees left his resume on the computer so I looked at it while bored as a young adult and I was like DAMN this resume looks good.

I deleted his information and replaced it with mine, and it's been mine for years. It's a sexy, simple, effective one. I will probably never need another.

yes but it's never really been important for any of my jobs. Almost every job i've had has come from a friend's recommendation. And recruiters are super aggressive since they get like 15-20% of your first year salary (that the company pays them, so no real difference to me), so i get offers regularly that I ignore unless they look interesting.

Did it myself but it wasn't really that much of a big deal

My grad school advisor was pretty OCD about it though and made us revise our CVs at least 5 times each, and I've been using the same format ever since and also handed off my Latex template to a few interns.

I made my own. Referenced a lot of online guides to help make it look good and used a nice looking but not too fancy template

Also I would change it depending on the job I was applying for, tailoring the information to match up the job description I feel is really important

I see, thanks a lot for all of your responses. But I think maybe I will pay recruiters to help me out. Maybe I'll try Monster or something.

Did my own but I did work with the unemployed and writing resumes from scratch was part of my job

Pm me with it and blank out your personal information and I'll take a look.
Can't guarantee it'll do anything but I'll take a look

I did it myself but then again part of my job was literally reviewing cover letters, resumes, and CVs so I knew what I was doing.

I did my own. However, my college has an alumni program and one of the perks is making a resume for you. I just sent mine in to them and they made some edits for me.
