There are quite a few good games on the list already and who knows what will be released in the next 2 months.

Actually you are VERY VERY right Krazy Kirby.

So after talking to them, and mentioning I have most of the games except borderlands 3, I went to sign up, but like everything I do research beforehand.

And it turns out that these are the only free games right now from stadia pro lol.

• Gylt
• PUBG
• Serious Sam Collection
• Spitlings
• Stacks On Stacks (On Stacks)
• Steamworld Heist
• SteamWorld Dig 2
• SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamesh
• The Turing Test
• Zombie Army 4: Dead War

I own all of those I have any interest in at all, so it would be completely and totally worthless to me.

And probably to 99.9% of everyone else.

And the dude I talked to KNEW that, and didn't tell me.

GRRRRr.

I haven't heard of some of those games, the ones I have heard of I'm not interested in playing, and I'm doubtful any of them could run decently on my computer

With stadio they can run decently on your cell phone lol. That is their whole gimic. Basically it runs on their servers and you need just a basic internet connection to play on anything. Cell phones, ipads etc, you name it, you can play on it.

But the list is insanely short right now. If you don't own, and have not played the Steamworld games, those are all good, and probably wortt getting the free trial for.

I don't know if they are planning on adding more in the future or what, but right now, I am very not impressed. I might look into it sometime in the future if they add more games...but for now, not even close to worth it for me.

Normally it would be a good plan, but with idiots working on their chat/phone lines not informing people that there are almost no games for "free" with the service, your going to turn people off big time on it forever.

If you do a list of games, it shows ALL of them, but you actually have to purchase most (although supppsedly you get a discount with the monthly plan that is free right now. You have to REALLY look to find out there are only the above listed games available for free.

If I had signed up I would have been really unhappy.

They don't even really have that many games total right now to be honest, they really should wait to have this free trial thing...till after they get a few games people are actually gonna wanna play.

They were originally going to charge people I think $10/month for the privilege of being able to buy games on their platform. Once the tiny fanbase they had abandoned them because, as you say, there are no games, they quickly turned around and made it free again. But at some point they will start charging for it.

Lack of games notwithstanding, this is just isn't worth it. Even if they had a full collection, why pay into this monthly when you can just buy an Xbox, PS4, upgrade PC, whatever. Buying an Xbox and a Game Pass subscription will definitely be a better deal.

Don't get me wrong, I fully believe video game streaming is the future. It just won't look like this. We get movies, music, tv, maybe even books via streaming and subscription services. There's no reason to assume that video games won't follow a similar route, it's just a bit trickier to figure out the architecture for it.

I've been using Xbox Xcloud Preview for a few weeks over 4G and it has sold me on game streaming. Even with the extra COVID congestion it's solid. It's my sincere hope I can access my full Xbox library when the full launch comes, but it at the very least includes the game pass library so it's gonna have a stellar lineup regardless.

Stadia's problem is trying to make streaming the primary means of play, when it should be supplementary.

Well, I certainly am not defending them or trying to get people to use em etc, but at least that isn't as much of a problem since you can now just directly access them games from your computer as well. You don't need their streaming crap at all.

So it's much like the Xbox game pass at this point, except the game pass rocks compared to stadias list of games.

The REAL problem is their games suck donkey balls and you get absolute crap for the $10 a month compared to game pass. Why would ANYONE even think about signing up for it when there are so much better options.

It may be free but they could also be putting spyware on your pc without your knowledge. I do not trust Google period.
