Digital, since it's more convenient given the Switch's portable nature.

I've bought more Physical than Digital actually.

Actually can't think of an expensive game that I've bought digitally. None. The most expensive digital game I've bought was $20 on Switch. Jedi Academy and Untitled Goose Game.

As to why, well at least for the time being resell options exist so if I don't like a game I can return it or trade it in at gamestop or sell or give it to someone. Kinda just stuck with a digital copy.

Now on the flip I buy a lot of digital games on my XboneX

I really dont have any games with longevity. So I just GameFly them. Ill play my switch like four months out of the year. Chance game fly and wait until there are like 4-5 games I want to play.

the only game I have purchased was BotW and its digital.

edit: and civilization. Digital

ill go physical if i can and dont have to spend an excessive amount of money (like trying to get an out of print game). i bought monster boy the other day on digital because new physical copies go for over $100.

For a big ticket item I go physical. Like, Nintendo made games for example.

Smaller titles I see no point unless it is LRG

On one hand I know I should because they often inflate in price; see any Gamecube game. On the other, the Switch has been so wildly successful that the biggest titles are unlikely to ever be super scarce, so Im torn.

Mostly digital because of eShop sales being way more common than physical deals.

I only have 3 physical games

I buy physical for everything, especially switch games because they taste fucking delicious. Like the most bitter earwax or stomach acid you can taste.
