Yea i woulda one and doned that shit. As it is i was in the swamp pvping last night with friends, 4 years later. Bodying dudes. Its still fun, great party game.

Invasions are the worst part of Dark Souls

Regular invasions are somewhat fun

And then you get those guys that trade down endgame gear and you do no damage to them and they one shot you in the first level of the game

Dark Souls is all around great.

You think a For Honor kind of game mode could work in PvP too?

They've always primarily been single player games to me. I'd occasionally go and help someone kill a boss though.

In dark souls 3, as host you have double the estus and 30% more health. As long as you arent in a covenant zone and dont dried finger, only 1 guy can invade you at a time. If you are equipped or experienced its usually an ass whooping. If youre both its slightly unfair for the invader, haha.

Nothing matters when the netcode is garbage and most invaders are boring try-hards

I think its fun both with and without it. Both approaches have merits and its nice to be able to do both

Disabling an awful system is the point, yes

I just want to enjoy the game and not deal with awful netcode and boring players that are a complete waste of time

i like invasions because sometimes youll get the fun and chill one who will just follow you around

one time during my miracle run on ds3 i had one of those guys, but he ended up trying to backstab me as mobs were attack me

he failed his backstab and i killed the mobs, and then started staring at him in disappointment

he proceeded to prostrate in sadness and let me backstab him to death

1. You dont know the system is awful, you dont participate in it. Your opinion is based on very little pvp experience and negative assumptions.

2. No one is stopping you from enjoying the game, you dont play online. You could even play online and just ember strategically or risk death like everyone else does. You know, the centerpiece of this series you chose to play.

3. You dont know much about the netcode or players. You play offline. Catering to a rookie like you would destroy the games longevity and you dont care because you see the issue extremely narrowly. A player like you will beat it and move on. A pvp player may stick around for years learning new things, creating content, pushing the boundaries of the game. Do you see top tier coop content? No. You know why? Because that shit is easy and no one cares, you guys beat the game and move on mostly.

Lots of things. Usually the people that say that are older players who get frustrated with the game or community so they turn on it. They are the ones who also often complain about lag and cant stand losing the most. Or new players who are intimidated by souls pvp and degrade it to feel better.

Other favorites are : i wasnt even trying, im just memeing, souls is dead, bo9/1v1 me, everyone is latent, everyone uses the same build , _____ was better this game sucks , invaders are cowards etc. Really toxic community, which i thrive in.

kid, I've did organized PvP back in demons soul 4 - 1 and dark souls' burg and I can say unquestionably that it is shit, none of your verbal diarrhea changes that

invasions however are great because of the random dynamic they have

I greatly dislike the multiplayer aspect. I played all of Dark Souls 2 online, and having other players pop in and constantly do stupid shit just ruined the mood of the game. Not to mention all the dumb messages plastered everywhere. I played 1 and 3 offline and had a much better experience.

Invasions are poop, but the mechanic does exist to dissuade you from going human for higher HP and the ability to summon.

So be like me and just stay hallow and never get invaded and never summon and Dark Souls is still flippin' awesome.

Does anybody have any fun invasion stories?

In 2 I liked using the Spotted Whip and poisoning hosts, poison isn't that strong in 2 but it almost always made hosts panic and it was hilarious watching their character start to move erratically and wild R1 mashing to try and kill me as fast as they can

I have never played a single second of online Dark Souls from 1 to 3, and I still replay and love the game.

I also don't have anything moronically negative to say about people that play the game the other way. To each his own. I don't like online play in video games, personally. I suck enough with the base game that I don't need anything added on top of that.

The downside to that is that you'll never see any helpful, funny or trollish messages. I have to have my messages!

I find even the default messages I do see to be annoying and ugly. When I see clips and pics with messages scattered everywhere I'm really disgusted.
