Can't sneak up on them like tarantulas lol can never get the right timing and distance.
Think i do better digging holes and have them run after me as i go behind the holes

Every one I've encountered acts just like a tarantula and all the tricks for tarantulas work for them. Easiest way is to just hold A and inch towards them and when they rear up stop until the go back down then repeat until you are close enough. Personally I've found that if they haven't noticed you yet, just running directly at them and hitting A when they do that little jump works everytime

I dont notice a little jump for scorpions as much as the tarantulas though. Seems like they just bolt at me with no warning when i creep up to them.

Tarantulas had a real big jump that made it easy i guess.

I just do the green light, red light game with them. I tried digging holes and somehow they get between holes and sting me anyway.

Yeah i never tried stopping when i creep on them actually so i may do that. I always just kept going.

I found this (Minus scorpions) and bamboo island one after the other on the same day CJ finally showed up. It seems like the game decides to throw everything at you at once. Made a mil in a day. Now if only Flick would hurry his ass up

So I ended up saying fuck it and farming Redd until I finished the art section of my museum, I hit the 300 day Nook Mile achievement (and went past it for at least another 20 runs) and I hadnt done any TT before so someone who has been playing since Day 1 can do the exact math but thats well over 200 runs on Redd for sure. Even with that I was still missing one real statue so I just went and traded and extra real statue I picked up for it because I was fed up. I also had about 5 real paintings before this that I never checked if they showed up during my farming. So yeah, even with 2 visits per month (if youre lucky) thats gotta be over 10 years if you do it legit, absolutely terrible design choice from the devs.

The good thing is in the process Mira decided to leave finally and in 10 tickets of searching I came across 3 money rock islands and eventually settled for bringing Julia in since I need a snooty and she has a fairly unique design for the ostrichs (shes a Peafoul/Peacock)

My island is absolutely overrun with weeds now though

I finally swapped my physical copy for a digital copy now I can actually play other things too

I think the lowest possible value period is 9 and that's only possible on a Saturday afternoon if you hit a Small Spike immediately first thing in the week and your turnip buying price was only 90.

Im not going to play the game for 10 years, and Nintendo/the devs have shown a tendency to nerf useful things not buff them so an update to make a useful NPC come more is highly unlikely. The last update (where Redd was added) literally nerfed the good NPCs already. They made kicks, leif, and saharah guaranteed every week meaning the actual good NPCs (Gulliver, CJ, Flick, Redd) and Label have to fight for only 2 spots every week . Not to mention they intentionally made him appear less than other games and dont guarantee he has anything real or new unlike previous games

Wasnt really a waste of time either, tool 30s per cycle if i wasnt buying anything (which was most runs) and even when I did buy something it wasnt much longer. I did it while I was watching shit I was already gonna watch anyway. The relief of not having to deal with the shitty mechanic anymore is a better feeling than any sense of "accomplishment" I could get from waiting 10 years to complete the museum

Knowing Nintendo, they'll probably decrease the rate of redd visits, increase the likelihood of fake paintings and remove the exploit that allows you to farm his visits.

Also, I need to clean up my island so Ive got these DIYs that are littering my beaches to get rid of for cheap. Ill do 1:1 for any DIY I havent already learned or take like 25k each, also looking to fly to your island to actually do the trades so I can unlock more DAL items
