My employer wont let us bring in our own face masks into a lab clean room and isnt providing any. Second person tested positive today.

Is this OSHA compliant? Drakeryn wasnt sure when I asked him like a month ago.

According to my personal lawyer I cannot be retaliated against if I go through OSHA, but he might be wrong

I don't know the definitive answer (especially since COVID-19 means things have been pretty fluid for the past couple months), but it looks like OSHA put this out:

See page 15 about employers being required to provide PPE. I haven't done a deep dive into the document or any further digging.

But yeah, you cannot be retaliated against by your employer if you do report it even as a concern for potential OSHA violation. OSHA takes their shit seriously and obviously does not want to discourage whistleblowers and risk employee safety.

Yeah so I already got a call back from OSHA. Technically they only require you to have access to a respirator (N95) so they can't do anything for me. Told me to contact the governors office instead.

Yeah he said OSHA law doesnt say they have to provide me with a face mask, so basically, only respirators. Which I presume means I have no case against breaking clean room owning procedure.
