Sweden has been going tougher and tougher on immigrants and asylum seekers since late 2015. Some controversial policies have been made reality while the pandemic takes media focus. Like the police having the legal ground to demand documentation proving you got a right to be in the country from people they pass on the street.

The latest proposal, not very controversial, which several Socialdemocrats and Conservatives agree on is extending the duration for a new application for asylum or citizenship if you fail the first time (from 4 to 10 years).
