I remember burning cds after buying the original at the actual music store/best buy/media play/FYE because I didnt want to "mess up" my master copy. Turns out that was a pretty good call after one of my cars exploded and melted all my copies.

I still have a little CD case filled with all those CDs in the trunk of my car. Every once in awhile I will bust it back out for a good laugh, and there are still some legit good songs on there.

The very first song on the very first CD I burned? Magic Carpet Ride by Steppenwolf.

Yeah I spent so much time on Windows XP burning mixes for getting lost in my car with friends. Before GPS was commonplace half of the fun was just getting lost and finding something new while out on the road. Gas was about as cheap as it is now which is weird.

I forgot all about this. I had a walkman CD player that could read mp3s and I felt like it opened up a whole new world for capacity lol.

Not fuzzy navels not we had plenty of shirtless liquor and gun bonfires back in the back of the backwoods.

Man I really wish I could remember some of the tracks. Just tossed those CDs like used cigarettes.

One time in my freshman year of college we want to a liquor and drugs party but we slept in and our ride left us. We had cellphones but nothing fancy or useful. So we used chacha to find our way back home

Mine had a combo so there was at least the added benefit of being able to find old tapes at the second-hand store for next to nothing. I discovered so much music by scrounging discount bins back then. Unfortunately most of those same stores have since closed their doors.

I still have mine somewhere. My current car doesn't have a CD player but it does have a USB slot so I have a flash drive with hundreds of songs on it plugged in.

It's way more convenient but it just doesn't feel right for some reason.
