I'm at home due to covid, the test is online. It's closed notes, but it's not proctored, so.......................

What I need isn't equations but how to use them. The conceptual.

That said, I really just need to do well enough to get a D- or above. I didn't finish the biggish project so there's no way I'm getting an A in this class. But due to Covid, we can take 'Satisfactory' as a grade. It meets all requirements while having no affect on GPA and hiding original letter grade.

Chapter 14. "Correlation and Simple Linear Regression."

It's not that I don't understand. It's that I have never seen the content before. I never got anything out of the in-person lectures. It's a big lecture hall and the professor has a thick accent. I coasted to the midterm because it was review of a combinatorics class I had in high school. Once class went online, that was the final nail in the coffin for my attention. I just let the attendance penalties pile up because they're a trivial portion of the grade. I probably could've had a chance to get an A or A- if I didn't fuck up the project.

You might think you get a boost of energy if you pull an all nighter and it comes round to day again, but youre actually dead inside and will screw your exam up
Get some sleep even if its like 2 and a half hours

If youre aiming for minimum passing grade, and its an open book exam, just study the table of contents and learn where to find stuff in the book. Thats the cheat code to pass any open book exam. You obviously have to be smart enough to apply any knowledge found within tho

you're not really supposed to get much from math lectures. you read the book, do the examples by hand, do the practice questions by hand. that's how i got an A in trig and calc with a teacher that only spoke mandarin and broken english.

I was spoiled by my high school. I went through Calc BC and Discrete Math without needing to crack open the book except for practice problems. Professor didn't even teach to the AP test... still had 99% 4s and 5s. He was just that good. I have a notebook somewhere filled with his weird quotes.

Our professor gave us all the formulas on every test and honestly the whole thing was more about how to use the software StatCrunch than really understanding the numbers and everything lol.

Can't imagine taking a serious Statistics class - think I got lucky with mine.

Oh I'd much rather have taken a 'serious' statistics class. This was 301 "business statistics" and it's basically for people at risk of their brain falling out. I just didn't know any better. I'd have been much more engaged in a real statistics or probability class with proofs and stuff. Then I'd actually understand what I'm doing and how the formulas are derived. Business undergrad is just 4 years of trade school to learn how to exploit Microsoft Excel. I'm thinking of switching majors.

High school teachers are usually better imo, and they benefit from smaller classes. Something about being in a massive lecture hall makes me zone out.
