I didn't mind FF13 and I really disliked FF13-2. Would have preferred if they just made a new game instead of tying it to the FF13 world. The FF13 world is not nearly as interesting as they thought it was when they made 3 games for it.

13-2's plot is a mess

but it's a glorious mess and somehow manages to stay compelling despite itself in all the ways 13's doesn't. and the gameplay is just damn good.

from what i recall there's a lot of costumes and some dlc boss fights of characters you can recruit (including ultros and Jihl!!!!)

but also there's some story DLC that is whatever (sazh) but super duper good (lighting)

I really liked Caius and I almost kept playing just to see where his story went but I couldn't make it through the gameplay anymore. I ended up reading a plot summary for 13-2 and Lightning Returns because I decided I couldn't spend any more time in the dumb world they created.

i honestly don't remember caius's deal. i don't remember the plot generally. but i remember having a lot of fun.

i might have to replay this game.

It was alright, not as good as XIII IMO. I enjoyed trying it out but eventually got bored and quit halfway through.

I can imagine liking XIII-2, a Serah and Noel party removes a lot of baggage.............. but still I can't for the life of me go through any more of that universe so I'd rather just not bother. I also never liked XIII's battle system and that's one of the few things that keep people into the XIII series in spite of the story so

I liked Noel in Act 2 Chapter 5 in Opera Omnia centered on him and I'll leave it at that! Plus Caius seemed like an actual villain with a character in Act 2 Chapter 1 that was about him..... there's a reason this game hasn't bothered with Bart/Dysley

If you're going by trophies I feel like 9 is worse than 10-2 just due to the grind you have to do for some of them, like killing monsters and jumping rope.
