Remember when there were measles outbreaks popping up literally last fucking year?!? Antivaxxers fought hard to keep their religious exemptions for vaccines.

Imagine what it will be like if we come up with a vaccine for Covid. Getting everyone a vaccine will become even more dire... we dont need conspiracy theorists throwing a wrench into things and screwing over immunocompromised people,

At what point in any religious text does it say Thou shalt not vaccinate.?

Hell, Mississippi of all places has the highest vaccination rate in the country.

I still struggle to understand how vaccination is a religious issue considering the practice didn't start until well after the various religious texts were written.

Im an atheist but I dont hate on religious people. This thread isnt for bashing religion, just for encouraging vaccination, especially to protect those who cant get a vaccine.

I don't mind religion, but Evangelicals aren't Christian, they are conmen. The Christians themselves might still be Christian. You're not supposed to judge other Christians like that. Just the "spiritual leaders".

Why is religion recognised in law to begin with?

Why are you, as a person, recognized? Same theory. You cant pick and choose what you want to protect. Either protect everyone or lose all protections. I'm a Christian and I'm getting a vaccine. No where in the bible said I can't. Plus humanity did something stupid I believe God can give wisdom to the science community to make a proper vaccine.

Honestly I think we should just take a gambit vaccinate people despite hy human trials going on. People are dying everyday

You're right. A lack of vaccines did cause this. But you know what else caused it? Open fucking borders. Letting people in from the third world who are not vaccinated and who do not have the health standards of the first world. Sanctuary cities like NY and LA and other big liberal hot spots, who have a crippling homeless crisis helped cause this. Seriously, CA has poop patrols, the homeless and immigrant problem is so out of control.

Anti-vaxxers rightly noted, that the lack of vaccines was not the inherent issue here.

Close the borders was the proper solution.

Everything has to be looked at in context. There should be no "one size fits all" methodology. Its everyones right to practice religion. Its nobodies right to endanger others health.

Illegal immigrants caused the virus to spread through America? Do you have a single fact to back that up? Also surprised to find out America has open borders let alone 3+ years into the Trump administration.

Have you actually done any research into the caravans that were trying to spread diseases here? Did you know Mexico understands this and has a border on its southern boundaries? International travelers spread this crap all over by breaking quarantine. The major disease vectors were from China and Italy.

I don't think the Bible actually has a basis for anti-vax but I think it's wrong to think that "It didn't exist so it can't be a religious issue". Both the Bible and e.g. the Constitution are supposed to be applicable to things that come later.

Ah, yes the caravans that start travelling from the south whenever Trump needs a boost. Those caravans that Mexico hates but apparently lets through? Totally full of American tourists and Chinese and Italian immigrants. And everyone knows Italy has third-world hygiene.

There's a thing in Leviticus that says "thou shall not pricketh the skin" somewhere between selling your daughter into slavery and how eating shrimp sends you straight to hell.

Doesn't really matter what it's actually about. I've never been able to successfully sway anyone's minds that the part in Leviticus about homosexuality is actually about pederasty (which it is). People will just conveniently assert it means whatever they want it to mean to justify their idiocy.

This is not theoretical, btw. Just individuals aren't getting away with it. The churches / other organizations are saying they don't have to pay any taxes while also donating to political candidates.
