Certain games companies, such as Nintendo for example, actually go out of their way to avoid crunch which is why Animal Crossing for Switch was delayed. For ND, it's not just the crunch culture. A majority of the employees actually ended up leaving due to how bad the work environment was. Veteran staff such as Amy Hennig and Bruce Straley ended up leaving when Neil Druckmann took charge. The whole situation is a huge mess which is why so many people over the past several months have turned on them. Doesn't help that Neil is pushing an agenda, too.
