What the fuck is even the point of primaries when no one is left? We need to have these nationwide at the same time.

Bernie deserves some of the blame here. There was no reason to suspend his campiagn if he still wanted to gain delegates.

They can do the same thing in a single week. The American electoral system is still fucking stupid bullshit that needs to be burned to the ground.

ahhhhhhh ok I misread your post: I thought you were asking what was the point of Sanders being on the ballot in the first place; a question that was answered in the tweet.

sorry about that.

Honest question here, but during a pandemic is this really a bad thing if he has no shot at winning? Or does something still happen even if he gets delegates but does not win? It seems like if there isn't a reason to go out and vote, people shouldn't go out and vote.

As I said, honest question. I'm kind of a political moron, I don't know if there are ways to vote from home or if this would actually do anything other than take away votes from Biden but not doing anything else.

He wants to obtain delegates so he can use them to dictate policy, which is why he never should have suspended his campaign in the first place.

B-b-b-but I was told by the same few trolls that the game isn't rigged against Bernie! Surely they weren't talking out of their asses!
Bernie has little chance of winning even if he had won New York out right so the rigged arguement doesn't really apply.

it's worth noting here that the virus is largely why Sanders stopped campaigning in the first place: he had redirected most of his fundraising efforts to covid-19 relief much earlier. he also wasn't willing to put people in greater danger from the virus. Biden was, and that's why he won.

As I said, honest question. I'm kind of a political moron, I don't know if there are ways to vote from home or if this would actually do anything other than take away votes from Biden but not doing anything else.
having more support from delegates gives him more pull in the party, and a better chance of the party adopting some actual good platforms.

You can't just take someone off the ballot who's still running and significant, even if they will lose. It's clearly political, they want as many votes going to Biden so it drums up as much support as possible for Biden vs Trump. Biden is gonna need every vote he can get, and I can't blame him, but it's been clear as day that the DNC has gone far above and beyond to kick Bernie down because he hurts their interests.

Bernie announced 3 weeks that he is officially dropping out of the race.

Theres more than just the presidential primary going on: its all the primaries for all offices. If they were really concerned about peoples safety, they would move to voting by mail.

Hes not "still running". He deliberately suspended his own campaign weeks ago. This whole issue is Bernie's fault.

So the only reason to remove Bernie is to reduce enthusiasm and prevent him from influencing the platform, glad we agree this is a cynical, bad faith action.

Correct. A cynical view would be that Sanders' removal is designed to deflate left-wing turnout downballot.
