I hadn't seen the actual quote Trump made about injecting disinfectants so I just looked it up. Unsurprisingly, it is ridiculously obvious that what is being reported is not what he meant.

How do liberals still not realize that falsely attributing quotes to him and ignoring context makes them look petty and insane to the rest of the country? The guy makes plenty of dumb statements all the time, and liberals consistently latch on to the most innocent stuff and twist it.

Uh, did you watch it within context? At the very best he comes across the same as someone who is completely unprepared for a meeting.

I get the feeling that he was trying to reiterate/rephrase what was said, but he mangled the interpretation so badly that it became something else entirely.

And the fact that he later said he was being "sarcastic" is...well...something.

Out of curiosity, what is your interpretation of his comments there?

I think people noticed it was down the same day as Grim's article on the intercept about it but there's no evidence it was originally up to begin with. This is before we had audio and video of it.

It's a weird episode to not have considering it's a Wednesday iirc, which would make it the only pull like it. Since there's no evidence on when it was up (unless something's changed) I don't know what way i lean exactly beyond it being suspicious. Super easy to go the more conspiracy route considering the details and the right is definitely gonna apply pressure here as to why it's missing. Some of the left too, to be fair, but all the factions objecting don't have power.

My interpretation is the only logical one. His statement is literally not up for interpretation, it was completely black and white.

The #1 preventative measure we have been told from the start is to wash our hands, because it kills the virus. Trump stated that if we have disinfectants and sanitizers that kill the virus on our skin, why do we not have similar things that can kill the virus once it's inside the body? He then said we should look into developing such a remedy, which makes it even more clear he was speaking hypothetically and not telling us to inject ourselves with bleach.

If anything, it shows he's not exactly familiar with how vaccines work. He's not the smartest man. But to imply he thinks injecting Clorox will work is idiotic and dangerous.

As for his "sarcasm" excuse, who knows. He has never been good at defending his words and actions, usually because he's forced to defend things he didn't actually say or do.

The reason I asked if you saw it in context was because he was responding directly to the person who preceded him, who talked about the time needed for UV light and bleach/isopropyl alcohol to kill the virus.

It wasn't a hypothetical disinfectant in this case; it was specifically those two.

I think its far more likely that, e.g., a bunch of people report the listing and its automatically removed than any deliberate action on googles behalf (thats how they treat stuff like copyright violation on YouTube; they put the onus on the uploader to show that they didnt violate copyright after receiving a claim of infringement).
