You aren't being serious right now. Any straight guy in this topic would go for it if a biological woman who looked just like Jessica Alba from Sin City said, "I want to sleep with you right now, but you should know that I really believe I am a trans man." You know this is true.

The thing is, these examples don't really work, because as far as I know, most people who identify as transgender don't simply say "I'm transgender but I'm not changing anything about my lifestyle!". Even if one doesn't go through with operations or other procedures to alter their body, I'd imagine most people who identify as transgender typically alter their lifestyle in such a way where they attempt to actually live and be perceived as the opposite gender. It's not a simple matter of a "hot girl" going "I consider myself to be a man, lol!".

I got to a liberal college in a liberal city and literally NO ONE I have met thinks like this. The word transphobia has been thrown around so much that it really has no meaning anymore.

Problem is they are vocal as hell and whiny to no end here. They are also part of the moderating staff so things said that aren't transphobic get moderated as such, and since the mod vote is just a circle jerk even posting in these topics if you don't agree 100% with them can get you nodded for being "offensive."

It's not a choice to be trans. And it's not a choice to be attracted or not attracted to trans people.

Your dating preferences absolutely do not support any transphobic systems that are present in society. I can advocate for LGBTQ+ rights without being sexually attracted to people in that community. I can support womens' rights without being attracted to women.

Eh. That just seems like a huge stretch just to say "See?! A hot girl is still a hot girl, to a straight guy!". It's not a realistic rhetoric, is what I'm saying. Yes, fine, in that one-in-a-billion scenario where a "hot girl" literally just decided she's transgender but hasn't changed anything about her appearance or lifestyle, and offers to sleep with a guy, the guy probably wouldn't even regard it. But realistically, that's not a situation that is likely to actually happen. Thus, it's not a very good example to use.

It would be more thought provoking to pose the question of "If a very attractive woman you knew decided she was trans and began actually living their life as a man, would you date them?". As it is, the rhetorical question is "If a hot girl said 'lol, I think I might want to be a man, but do you wanna hook up while I'm a girl?', would you do it?", which is just silly, because it's not actually asking something.

He's trolling a bit, but he isn't entirely off base. Bringing attention to differences between women and trans women is considered uncouth.

I'm not interested in dating anyone with copious amounts of plastic surgery, no matter how mutilated their genitals are or what they were born as.

This is how ridiculous it sounds to call people transphobic for not wanting to date based on sexual preferences. Outright refusal or or not when asked, it doesn't make a difference.

This line of thinking, of shaming people, isn't helping the trans community and it's making liberals as a whole look bad.
