Found this on the Super Mario Wiki article on Diddy Kong Racing DS, which makes me wonder if Tiptup is eligible?

Due to Rare's acquisition by Microsoft, Banjo and Conker were replaced by Dixie Kong and Tiny Kong, although Tiptup was kept in the game, despite his appearances in several Banjo-Kazooie games. While developed by Rare, the original game is almost entirely owned by Nintendo save for everything relating to Banjo and Conker, thereby allowing the game to be re-released (alongside Microsoft not currently participating in the handheld gaming market).

It's looking pretty solid right now as 64. If 128 would be filled by a bulk of the 1 nomination entries, I can't help but think most of those matches would end up as uninteresting fodder (though I like many of them, it would be the truth).

Okay I checked and it seems like it's a Wonderful 101 scenario where Nintendo and Platinum co-own the IP, so if Nintendo is cool with it Platinum can aim to get the game published on other consoles. Looks like Big N doesn't care about W101, like, at all.

I'll allow Astral Chain characters. But I've only played a little of the game, and plan to actually play the rest, so I'll say please give me the less-spoilery of the names to include in the bracket.
