The proposal is to have the 5 Nordic countries put together their resources, scientific know-how and so forth to secure supplies of medical supplies and vaccine against for example COVID-19. Local factories in the Nordic region would both create jobs and strengthen the countries healthcare systems.

Im all for continuing to deepen the Nordic partnership

Please explain how the Swedish response to COVID is completely fucked up?

And from a resource perspective all Nordic countries are doing alright compared to many other nations but all 5 rely too much on factories in other countries. At least Danish officials have also voiced similar thoughts on building shared factories.

Everybody needs to go "Local Sourcing" and not rely on others.

Nothing wrong with Nationalism when it isn't misused to hurt others.

It has resulted in proportionally one of the highest infection rates in the world. 9 times that of Finland next door.

There are some factors which partly explain the difference. Swedens population is almost twice that of Finlands with more larger cities. Still we have higher numbers than them from a per capita standpoint but Sweden has done more testing and is one of the nations which doesnt just count COVID deaths which happen in a hospital. The Swedish strategy, where several parts of society remain open, will of course lead to more infections as well but it mitigates the economic impact. In some countries, the economic fallout from lockdowns is already starting to create a situation which is increasing poverty and starvation amongst the populace. Several other European countries with lockdowns are doing far worse than us like Italy, Spain, France, the UK, the Netherlands and Belgium. They are worse off in terms of infections and deaths + damaging their economy.
