Unlike these elderly people who don't enjoy anything made after 2001, I would greatly enjoy the opportunity to play a new interpretation of Chrono Trigger.

No hype at all, especially if they change the battle system into action RPG. There's basically no chance it would better than the original. A remaster would be nice, but I love the SNES graphics for this game anyway.

to be clear i'd absolutely play a CT remake, but not one that's as bloated as ff7r sounds like it was

Chrono Trigger has room for improvement but as a whole it does what it set out to do extremely well. I have no faith in modern Square making a remake that would be anywhere near as good.

You guys are nuts, Chrono Trigger's gameplay lends itself perfectly to an action RPG style. Hacking and slashing with Crono and Frog would be fun and setting up the double and triple techs would be a blast if implemented well.
Maybe they wouldn't even need to split it into parts either considering you can choose to fight Lavos whenever you want. Crono would need to talk to carry the story though I think. I can't remember if he has implied speech. --- TimJab ... Copied to Clipboard!
