Should I buy it?

It's only $23 on PSN right now and I'm in the mood for an rpg.

I bought it when it released but still haven't touched it. I liked the first one save for the fact that the game held your hand through the whole thing. I'm sure it's decent.

As far as I played it, I like it, only thing that annoyed me was that the game insists after the prologue/tutorial that the main character is not actually the main character and I have to rotate him back to the controlled character slot from time to time.

I couldn't bring myself to finish the first one for a list of reasons I cannot recall off the top of my head, though I do remember the plot being both aggravatingly trite and overly convenient. It's for this reason I have not even bothered with the second game.

People complaining about the first being too easy realize there are options to offset that right? You can disable the minimap as well as the guiding star and change the difficulty to give it more of an old-school experience

My only issue with the game is half the side quests are "this guy has no confidence so let's find someone who does and restore it"

As for the second one it's alright but it misses a big part of what makes the first so good and that's the charm of the story and characters
