that could be rump imo. it's very beefy, not much fat and doesn't have much of a defined shape

A filet done right is the best tasting imo, bust they're usually on the small side. Ribeyes taste great as well and I usually feel full after eating them, just don't taste as good as filet. So one of those depending on my mood/hunger

Rib eye most of the time, a thick cut new York strip on occasion. Porterhouse if I decided I'm spending 50+ a plate.

Get one of each then. Filet wont fill you up. At least not from my experience. But then again if you have a stuffed/baked potato and other sides Filet is really the best way to go.

It's basically straight meat. Depends on if you like fat or not because filet has no fat. It's all meat. It's also very consistent, the entire cut is pretty soft and easy to chew on top of tasting amazing. There's a reason it's more expensive.

Get the filet if you're just craving steak. You wont be disappointed. Dont overcook it though, that's a mistake people make because filet tends to be thicker than a ribeye. You'll scorch the outside if you cook it too long, it's supposed to be pink/reddish on the inside.

we call it sirloin over here, and it's a very popular cut

can't wait to dine out on a nice porterhouse once everything is over

i prefer meats to either have fat or bone-in, so i'm worried i'm not going to like it, but i'll definitely give it a try!

i tend not to overcook steaks anyway so hopefully it should be okay if i do get some fillet steak

yeah probably ribeye here too.

isn't it generally agreed that ribeye should be cooked a lil more than a lot of other steaks due to the fat content?

I make steaks maybe once a week, so pretty frequently. Usually ribeyes or filets. Its just something quick and simple to me. Ive made steaks so often I can tell its medium rare very easily, just by touching it.

its a little unfair to NYStrip to lump it in with general 'sirloin' since the NY Strip is the best part.
