Havent been following as closely as I once was. What has Seattle done differently than New York? IIRC Seattle got their first cluster before New York did. Everyone was saying Seattle was gonna be Wuhan 2.0 at first and Washington in general hasnt even been one of the hardest hit states in the country.

I haven't seen any tweets from their mayor to ignore the issue and go out on the town.

My guess is that New York is exposed to more travel and has a much denser population.

Seattle isn't as densely populated as NYC. Also they shut down earlier while NY was saying stuff like its ok if parents of kids test positive. Schools can remain open only when a teacher test positive will a school be closed. We now know kids are probably asymptomatic so it highly likely kids caught it spread it to each other than gave it to their parents. While schools remained open.
