Was thinking about how much the dry scenes in FF6 could be improved with the remake treatment. They probably won't ever do it, but the story and events in that game would definitely hold up I think.

X would be my second choice even though it aged well, since I think they could add so much stuff to the game and make it even better. Plus imagine the combat using the new ATB system... damn

FFVIII is the game that shouldve been remade. 4, 6, 9 and 10 are all classics, while 8 is really broken. And an action RPG with a Gunblade is an instant win.

I think FFVI and FFIX's aesthetic and worldbuilding styles don't fit an action game. FFVIII and maybe FFX can, though.

Voted for VI without thinking, mostly because the idea of Terra in character action was very appealing.

Then I thought about it for two seconds and wow VIII really is an absolute slam dunk with the direction they're going for with the remakes. Time Kompression, indeed.

FF8 would be most improved gameplay-wise but as someone who isn't a fan of the story there's no saving it to me.

FF6 I think would have by far biggest improvement for fleshing out the world and story, so I voted for that.

9 and 10 I think have both aged well enough, though none of these at all have aged quite as strangely as 7 has.

I think I'd vote for VI, because I think from a writing perspective it would still hold up well enough that it could really be revitalized for new audiences with a remake. I think out of all of the poll options, it would probably be the hardest one to remake though. In that regard, VIII would probably be the easiest.

X would be cool but I think that game actually still holds up well enough, even the voice acting. People make it fun of it but I find the many "Hunh?"s in 7R and the awful voices (not the acting, just the choice of voice) for many of the characters so bad and poorly chosen that that bothers me way more than any voice acting in X ever did.

The entire point of 9, I feel, is that it's a throwback to classical RPGs (or classic FFs), so I feel like a remake would actually go against the entire core of that game.

I wouldnt want an FFX remake in this style because I love Xs turn based combat too much. I think it has my favorite turn-based battle system of any rpg.

VIII would be good because Ive never been able to get into that one. Updating it could go a long way.

IX is the PS1 FF that I think works best as a PS1 game in the sense that the less realistic graphics suit the game well. I think youd need a very different art style from the VII remake to do IX right.

VI... I really wish theyd done a DS remake like they did for IV. Remaking it now would be pretty cool, but also its really hard for me to imagine it ever happening.

I think VI has the most to potentially lose from a big AAA remake. I feel like it'd be hard to justify keeping all the optional side stuff, especially if they end up breaking into multiple episodes like VIIR. Though I guess I wouldn't expect VIII or IX to go unscathed either.

Just gimme a AA Switch 3D remake for VI instead. Something with modest graphics, like Trials of Mana remake or Bravely Default II.

Answer: Theyre the same height! Or Cloud is 1 inch shorter.

FF8 would need a complete dialogue rewrite to be worth it. Those characters were unbearable without voice acting. I don't want to know how annoying they'd be with voice acting.

FFVIII needs a remake to adequately complete it's story. Objectively it's the easiest choice from a "which game would benefit" standpoint.

Financially, SE would benefit from FFX the most.

FF8 benefits from it the most no contest, and also has the benefit of any changes they want to do already making sense in-story because its already about time shenanigans.

FF6 would be the one I WANT the most though.

FF9 Remake in theory would be cool but I'm pretty sure the voices for a lot of the cast would be insufferable, at least based on the few times they've been voiced in spinoffs. I think I prefer it the way it is.

Both VI and VIII are incredibly deserving.

I want to see VI from a story and character perspective, like seeing a lot of those scenes voice acted and displayed in full HD. Things like the opera scene and the Doma sequence would be crazy.

VIII on the other hand is the most divisive classic game and I think it deserves a second chance to win people over. Plus I think it has the best possibility for cool gameplay. Not only because of the gunblade, but I would love to see how the Draw system gets implemented.

This makes sense. However, the main problem with FF8 is that the junction system breaks the game and you can't remove it because junctioning ends up being extremely crucial to the plot.

Squall definitely fits best for an action RPG though. If I could only have one I guess I would pick FF6 just for the graphics upgrade
