I just want to see all the covid deniers get a slap of reality. The misinformation spreading everywhere is insane.

Then I realize that innocent people will be harmed and I'm much less enthusiastic about everything.

The more successful we fight this the more the covid deniers scream in large groups in public. I'm just perplexed at the whole situation.

Yeah unfortunately. Covid deniers seem extremely unconcerned with how they may effect others.

I just want them to change their tune for others sake. Difficult to feel sympathy for the protestors themselves.

Well many of these "covid deniers" don't have any source of income with their jobs being shutdown. Many of them live paycheck to paycheck. Do you realize how many people have become unemployed? Many that have families to look after? I bet you'd be changing your tune if you were in the same situation.

It's funny how they think they're woke when this kind of denialism has fucked over societies for centuries. The 1918 flu pandemic literally had this exact problem.

People got set up with stay-at-home orders, so they set up giant parades, and got more people killed than World War I itself.

It's odd, I'm kind of relieved to be in a state that has the biggest hot spot in the world. I'm far enough away that I'm not in the thick of it, though it's still spreading up here, but I'm close enough that I don't have to worry about the area around me opening up too soon. I also think the red necks here may be too lazy to drive to Albany, so we may not see any protests at the scale we've seen in other cities. Of course I'm fortunate enough to be in the position where money isn't an issue, so I can only speak from my own perspective.

So maybe be pissed at the system that is intentionally designed to keep people living paycheck to paycheck so that they live in fear of poverty and are easier to control.

There is no evidence to suggest that the people protesting to reopen the economy are also the same set of people without jobs due to the shutdown. There are also plenty of people that have lost their job who aren't out protesting because they recognize the importance of health. Health officials continue to advocate for a shutdown. Economists continue to advocate for a shutdown. Instead of protesting their governors who are actually helping to save lives, they should maybe redirect their anger at those in the federal and state governments who are preventing aid and money to be funneled to the workers who lost their jobs.

Isn't it a shame the government can't get its act together enough to help the people who have lost their livelihoods?
