Like maybe youre an essential worker that gets paid more now and a stim check.

Or unemployment + stim check is as much or more than before.

Still working from home, still getting regular paycheck, got stim check "Donald dollars," student loan payments are deferred for now, yes I am strangely doing better for the moment BUT I'm being laid off from my job after June 5th, something that was in place before the COVID-19 restrictions so we'll see what happens in that regard. I'll collect unemployment obviously but still...

I received my stim but I'm not using it, they will be coming back for it later at some point.

My job (grocery store CSS/front end supervisor) didn't give us raises, but we get an extra $50 per week as a "lunch perk" that gets written off for taxes anyways.

We're required to wear masks now, which sucks, but it'll be over and done with eventually. I'm waiting on a doctor's note from my dad's physician so that way I can get 2 weeks of paid time due to Covid-19 risk, plus 2 more weeks of paid sick time off.

When the government gives you a free handout, there will be strings attached. You can expect to be paying it back, one way or another.

Financially yes, but it has nothing to do with what's going on. Mentally I'm actually a lot better than I thought I would be, even better than where I was right before this outbreak.

I'm a System Designer for Best Buy. Just about everyone in store got furloughed but they're still paying me my average wages (I'm comission so it averages out to about $30/hour) to do remote work until at least May 31st. Haven't been inside a store or client's home since March 13th and won't till at least May 31st so the company is definitely taking care of us. Very surprised that they're paying out what I averaged over last quarter rather than chopping it to minimum wage or something.

Financially I'm at the best spot since I've moved out (still work full time + stimulus + tax return) and I've formed a short term goal.

Otherwise I'm just hanging in limbo. Really want to go out with friends again and start dating but I can't =/

I deal in high end home integration systems like Savant, lighting (not stuff like Phillips hue), distributed audio, high end Hi fi systems, etc. I walk a house and the owner tells me what they want their house to do and I give them a bid on a system that does it.

No, but my company will pay me 2 weeks if I get a doctor's note from my dad's physician, because me working there would put my dad "at risk" for covid-19 (I can potentially catch it and spread it to him) as he's a cancer patient with practically no immune system.

And then I'm full time as well, so I have at least 2 weeks of sick pay, and they will allow you to use that during the covid-19 outbreak as a valid use of sick pay.

I don't get a check
I'm still looking for a job
Nobody is hiring because they filled all their roles
Can't find a mask now that it's illegal to be outside without one not even a scarf counts now either buy the obviously marked up masks or be arrested and jailed

It's bullshit

I live about 80 miles north of Miami. My hygiene is very good and I haven't been sick in a very long time. Common sense prevails though, so I always keep myself clean. Washing hands, occasional sanitizer, I never have to cough or sneeze, I never touch him directly for any reason, we hand wash all dishes and then wash again in the dishwasher, and all clothes, towels and sheets are cleaned in hot water. He also does not leave the house, except for getting outside for some fresh air and sunlight in the backyard. I live with both my parents currently, I'm helping my mom take care of a my dad.

I'm mainly trying to use my time off to help alleviate me potentially bringing cross-contamination home (I always take my clothes off in the garage and wash my hands before coming inside) but it'd also be very nice to have some paid time off, and have more than 5 seconds to focus on things around the house, like the yard, cleaning my car, cleaning the garage, time to actually exercise, etc.

Still working. No commute. Don't have to deal with driving anxiety or worrying about leaving the slow cooker on all day, and I have time to bond with my cat.

I miss my friends, my cocktail bar buddies, and going to Hoodslam shows. But it's worth not slowly drowning in my own lung fluids and dying alone.

Yeah, I was unemployed prior to this and am now on salary w/annual bonus probably going to make six figures annually once I am actually working full year over year.

My business won't go away or deplete either, and I'm a seasoned professional (my unemployment was a year long sabbatical I took after I was the victim of a firing at my last job). I never get laid off, and judging from my co-workers who were hired on with me I won't be released anytime soon either.

Also get to work from home through the summer, then once this is "over", I get to work from home 3-5 days out of the week, which is one of the contentions I had with my old job. (They took our work from home liberties away, and this girl I really wanted to **** started playing mind games to get me fired.)

That doesn't really matter.
Anyone immunocompromised, or anyone who has regular contact with anyone immunocompromised, should have been quarantined since February, preferably earlier.

So far so good. Reduced hours at work but extra pay than normal. Stim money. Cheap gas. Cheap stocks. Free lunches. Wife can stay home with the kids. Other than a bit of cabin fever Ive been very blessed personally. Sucks for the millions out there that arent. I try to buy local and tip 30+%.
