Guns. Linear acrobats. Guns. Guns. Linear acrobats. Repeat, very little variation in combat or adventure sequences.

I haven't played 4 yet. 1 was probably my favorite. I don't think 2 or 3 will win you over.

It's not really a video game as much as a movie you interactively progress through

uncharted 1 is really dated. the first couple of chapters of uncharted 2 are kinda boring but after that the series is amazing. just play 1 on easy for the story

3 is the worst game because the story sucks.

They have puzzles but yes sequels tend to be like their predecessors. I love Uncharted. Uncharted 2 is great too. 3 and 4 are still good though. Maybe it's just not for you.

Sorta is. Not that I have any issue with most of the Tomb Raider games.

1 is heavier on combat, the others seem bigger on platforming. There's also more variety in terms of settings in the other games. #1 is exclusively in and around that jungle.

3's story is garbage and the relic from that one is the worst of the original trilogy.

@blu

Ooof sorry you played the first one, even ten years ago it was considered dated.

UC2 is a fine starting point and the best in the series, though I havent got to play 4 yet.

4 added more open spaces and cars to drive around in (at least I don't remember controlling cars before 4, really) and they like to play that up. 4 has a better story than 3 though imo.

Only played 2 and the beginning levels of 3 and they were among the most forgettable games I've ever played, its mind boggling that they're one of Sonys flagship franchises. Do playstation players really have that low of standards for shooters?

I say this as a fan of Uncharted, but the TC is basically right. The games are incredibly repetitive and linear. I have a hard time remembering specific sequences from each game, because gameplay never evolves or changed, and there's a lot of fights / scenes throughout the series that play out very similarly. They all just blend together in my mind.

Not the gameplay, or even the story is very good in my opinion. My biggest problem with the stories of the games are that it's very obvious how often it's needlessly drug out just to prolong the game. Which just leads to more repetitive gameplay. I barely remember the story of any of the games. It's all just you and the bad guys playing hot potato with whatever magic item(s) are in that game. Isn't that the story of every single Uncharted game?

IMO, the main strengths of the series has always been the action, the set pieces, and the fact that the main characters are very likable. That's why I kept coming back to them.

Unfortunately, if you didn't play the games when they were new, the action and set pieces are probably fairly unimpressive by now (exception of Uncharted 4) and you probably don't care about the characters.

So yeah, I can total get what you're saying.

I started with #2 and I enjoyed the game just fine, they make it pretty accessible without playing the first one.

I liked them all. I will say that 4 seemed much more open than the rest. And the spin-off started off almost like an open world for the first part...

Idk that Id really call it a shooter. It had shooter parts, but that wasnt the whole game, IIRC...

The Uncharted series is great. From the top of my head shooter games/series I thought were/are decent that are only on playstation outside of that are Killzone and Resistance. Outside of those the rest are third party like Bioshock, Borderlands and so on.

Yeah because the curse of El Dorado was totally unexpected on a game about finding El Dorado the lost City of Gold. It's not like treasures have myths attached to them at all and the series definitely hasn't done anything like that since!

How could zombies be a thing in those myths if zombies didn't exist when the myths were created?

No. Uncharted 3's story isn't as good as 2 or 4 but it's definitely better than 1. And it has some of the best setpieces in the series.

Zombies are the dead brought back from the dead by witchcraft or other means. A curse is one of those other things.
