Current Events > I'm expecting an XBox 360 in the mail. What are some good exclusives?

When I say good, It doesn't have to be great. Unambitious games that are decently good but also cheap as hell are allowed. And when I say exclusives, games that are also on PC but only on consoles on the 360 are also legit, since I prefer consoles.

I like a lot of stuff; jrpg, action, adventure, platformers, fps, third person shooters, horror titles, etc. Not a big fan of sports or simulation or multiplayer stuff.

Fable 2 is a good call, the first one seemed decent. Although it was really easy to go evil just by punting one small child. Come on, he was asking for it. I'm still mostly noble.

Lost Odyssey, oh yeah that one. I don't know much about it, but seeing as it's an RPG I kind of want to keep it that way so it's more exciting.

Seems like Fable 2 isn't being sold on Gamestop's website but I added Lost Odyssey to the cart.

It's a prequel of sorts, so nah

You'll get spoiled by sprinting if you try to go back to 1,2, and 3 though

Cool. I also threw Chronicles of Riddick on my cart because I've heard good things. Think I should watch the movies first? I've never seen them.

Also I'm torn between Tales of Vesperia for the 360 or getting the updated PS4 one, which is more expensive.

Most people say the extra content is kinda low quality compared to the original game so if there's a massive price difference and you really don't care you should consider the original.

Yeah actually almost all OG games are BC with the 360.

There's a 360 enhanced edition somewhere though that I think adds 1 other character and some other useless crap.

The story was written by the guy who wrote the first five or six final fantasies, and the score is written by nobuo uematsu. The combat system is pretty good while still being turn based, and the side stories are incredibly well written.

It's not completely flawless, but it's basically a top-tier final fantasy in all but name that sold really poorly because it was on the Xbox.

I personally hated it but I can't explain why without spoiling the entire game so I'll just say I hope you enjoy it but I'm forever suspicious of anyone who recommended that game to me as just starved as fuck for any kind of turn based jrpg.

Annoyingly Halo 3 and all the Gears games aren't in stock at Gamestop rite now but I plan to check them out

Not a fan of realistic racers tho, sorry. GTA or Mario Kart yeah, Gran Turismo not so much.

Got Blue Dragon from amazon at the same time as my system. I know it got mixed reviews but I really like DQ and Toriyama.

Gamestop was selling them for like 90 something, but they were out so I got one for like 115 dollars, 250 gig hard drive and one controller off Amazon. There's actually a lot of different offers so you could shop around for model etc.

Noice. I stopped gaming especially on consoles after the ps2 basically so I've been trying to catch up. I've gotten through Dreamcast and going through GameCube now. I think I'm gonna skip the of Xbox but not the 360, still weighing the choices

I did notice a lot of games were backwards compatible on the 360, which is pretty good. Need to go through and see what all it was, but I found a page with a list of like 480 games.

Oh no it's very easy to understand and there's no real grinding (enemies give 0 xp if you're too far above their level).

The combat system is just such a slog though. And some of the higher tier crafting recipes need like 50x some item that only exists as a rare steal which could take days to farm.

To expand a little bit, regular attacks in the game involve this shrinking ring mini game that will impact whether you hit, miss, or crit. It's pretty engaging early on, but it means that you can't button mash through random encounters which is probably where he's coming from by calling it slow.

Ah, I mean, that's not necessarily bad. I enjoyed it in the Mario RPG games and Legend of Dragoon.

All or at least most of the crafting is optional. I think you might have to craft one thing just to get through a tutorial but can't remember. The gear is pretty good but honestly not worth it unless you have to 1000/1000 it (also not recommended).

The real issue is the attack minigames which must be done for every single attack and it's not so bad at first but it's literally there for the whole game.

It's like Legend of Dragoon except instead of timed button presses that change based on what you're doing with the potential for a counter every fight turns into a golf minigame.
