Complete morons. Getting out of their cars and standing way too close to each other, blocking the streets so that ambulances can't get to the hospital. Not wearing any protection at all against Coronavirus.

They're protesting because they can't buy seeds or paint at the store.

There are going to be massive spikes in cases.

What's the point of forbidding people from buying seeds and paint?

To get people to not go to the store unless they need essential items like food

hey a fellow michigander.

i seen posts on FB about this but it was supposed to just be people staying in their car and keeping apart but obviously that didn't happen. it's because our state has one of the strictest stay at home orders outside of probably like new york and new jersey. but we're 3rd in deaths and been going between 3rd and 4th in cases. we're like new york where 90% of our people are in detroit and like a 2 hour drive from it so the whole southeast has been hit hard.

as for seeds i went to meijer yesterday and the girl in front of me bought like 20 packs so it might just been mine that's not really following the orders too much yet. it was also in the morning and not really that busy yet. but from what i seen you can still buy them and paint at smaller stores if they're still open. so try your local hardware stores and stuff.

i also see a lot of complaints about not being able to go boating but it's just stuff with a motor from what i seen. they don't want people traveling far or have to fill up for gas. so kayaks and row boats are fine. a lot of the issues is from the governor and her not being clear enough on anything. on charge.org there's a petition to recall her and it was over 150k signatures last i looked and like 90% of that is from the last few days.

Seeds are essential... that's where food comes from. Some people grow their own food, and it's smart, if god forbid there was a really serious food shortage.

It's snowing? Okay. Eventually it will stop snowing and warm up enough for the growing season. If they plan to sow seeds on their land I tend to think they're planning on eating a vegetable... you understand?

Yes but you arent understanding that these people werent going to plant anything to begin with and you can buy them online still. The whole point is to keep people from going out in public. Are you understanding? Do the words that Im saying make sense? Is it clear?

yeah, half of my facebook friends are in that group and constantly post bullshit.. it's pretty fucked up.

anyway, there are a small handful of people (myself included) who are more upset at the fact that things like lotto tickets, booze, and weed are easier to get than seeds/garden supplies. I'm really glad that I stocked up on seeds a few weeks ago and started some plants indoors but some might not be as lucky.

the only problem i have with it is that gardening and renovation projects are very meditative in my opinion, but it's possible to order most everything online (maybe not 2x4s or something lol) so it's more inconvenient but still doable.

Exactly. So they don't even need to buy them right now. Maybe if people stayed home and the numbers were starting to go down they could finally start building their "dream" gardens. But this protest has reset what progress the stay at home order was making.

It seems like in some areas the further north you go, the more rednecks you get. New York state is full of red necks, I live on the line between downtown Saratoga and nothing but farm land, and house after house has Trump signs up. I have no issues with them, they seem like good people, but I didn't realize how much different things get in different parts of New York.

Oh wow major cities with dense populations were hit harder? That must mean it's because they are democrats and not because it's easier to spread in areas like that.

lol at posting this nonsense as if you are presenting an actual argument. If you can't post a counterpoint without using a slanted argument then you have no point and just showed you ass.

I did not say they were hit harder because they're Democrats. I didn't even have a comment about it.

But I will say that I don't think anyone should be wishing harm on anyone else, nor reveling in the prospect of harm befalling others because they are different.
