Oh, I am. But like turbopuns said, I'm just musing at the thought of what should be an automated email somehow being delayed this long, when the actual shipping/delivery of the physical game wasn't. You'd think it'd be the reverse.

$30? Wasn't it $20? Mine was $80.

Deluxe wasn't just extra DLC. it did come with an Artbook, OST and Steelbook case. Probably not $20 worth of extra value but not just DLC for sure.

I've scored 29.5k+ on Whack-a-Box hard mode 5 times and still haven't broken 30k this is infuriating and I love it

Ohhh didn't realize your choice affected that at all. I had the Chun Li and I want her to wear it permanently.

Just looked it up and there's a lot of different ways the Wall Market dresses and quests can go, that's pretty awesome.

Guys someone help me not lose my sanity

ATB Assist materia says your other teammates get an ATB boost when, and this is a verbatim quote of the text, "repeating a command 2 times."

So I spam Tifa's Focused Strike, looking at the other party members, no movement on their ATB. The second I do Focused Strike + Starshower, bam, noticeable ATB boost on the other party members.

I'm trying to google if anyone else is seeing this and nobody else seems to have commented on that. Am I crazy or is ATB Assist kind of doing the exact opposite of what the literal description of it in the game claims? Really gives boosts for doing two different commands in succession rather than really repeating a command?

Also I went "exotic" and had totally forgotten the blue dress.... easy to forget in that case.

Exotic is only a choice if you complete all the chapter 3 side quests

Similarly aeriths red dress is only if you do all chapter 8 sidequests

If you say Sporty she gets a Chunners dress.

Had no idea the choices made any difference. Tifa had a blue dress and Aerith had a red dress, didn't know there were other possibilities.

Those were some nice dresses though

Yeah you're right but the main description says it's for using commands back-to-back instead of repeating so it was obvious to me I had to combo skills.

to follow up on the ATB Assist thing, it definitely also works if you spam Unbridled Assist. I had to verify just now but it does. You probably just aren't doing it fast enough?

Can you try that one in particular? Eh... starting the next game with a whole slew of master materia would be good, but maybe make things too broken. I'm trying to remember how Xenosaga handled changes between games... I think you started with some bonus skill points for the skill tree but that was about it.

Just beat it. I was bracing myself for something catastrophic, but it was just weird and uncertain. Awesome game.

Also after hearing about Hard mode, I think I'll do NG+ Normal first to max as much as I can and see any alternate paths or scenes. And maybe optimize bosses?

Warning to anyone currently playing: do NOT use checkpoints if you die in a fight. I died to a fight and used a checkpoint and almost lost 3-4 hours of progress. It doesn't start the entire chapter over so I don't understand when it randomly decides to make a checkpoint. Luckily I had a backup save so I only managed to lose about 20 minutes.

For those curious, Chapter 9 spoilers I was doing the Chocobo guy's mission to fight the 2 bombs in the coloseum and died. The checkpoint put me back in Madame M's shop BEFORE any of the coloseum stuff. I would have had to do that entire part again if I didn't have a backup save. Why in the world would they not put another checkpoint after you beat The House?

So I just finished Wall Market.

Sooooo Honeybee Inn. How absolutely amazing was that? And hilarious. What a great time. Doing the squats was also a great time, and a terrific throwback to the original. Loved it. Kicked Jules' ass first try, so that was nice.

Edit: Also, fighting the HELL HOUSE in the coliseum was fucking awesome. I was sad that they took it out of the game, as I hadn't seen it earlier.

initial feeling is that this looks amazing and I want to play the entirety of FFVII like this right now and it sucks that it will take a million years for the whole thing to release

the voices are pretty good. Matt Jones for Wedge is pretty funny, sephiroths voice doesnt feel quite right to me, but also im not sure what I think he should sound like. I kinda just imagine Seymours voice? I dunno.

I think what it is is that you can combo different skills but very few of them can self-combo. You can test it by setting the skills to your shortcut bar, and the skills that can't be comboed will be greyed out during the input window while the rest are not.

The good news is that Tifa is still really good with that Materia because her buff self-combos and she gets Starshatter or whatever which is meant to be comboed into something else.

Just beat Air Buster, that was pretty tough. I don't think I have fought a single battle that wasn't basically scripted though, maybe I should grind a bit when I get the opportunity.

Well the sewer and the trainyard bit with the ghosts were really padded out and slowed everything right down, it felt like
FF7's answer to the communications tower from MGS1 was prety great though as was the whole reimagining of sector 7 coming down. Fun boss fight and great cutscenes. I like Barret a lot in this actually.
