Maybe if we auto+lynch people who exclusively use "insult people" as a defense people will stop doing that.

I did the opposite of insult people. I said tange has his brain off. This is implying that I think highly of his brain power and that he isn't utilizing it to his full potential.

Honestly it feels to me like, while flavor may hint at what power someone has. The names could be so random that they do not immediately say a player IS power.
Though with roles like doctor, I suppose the flavor could be too on the nose.

(and if it did, the role would be more useful to scum honestly)

The crash symbols and human being able to talk tell me flavor might matter.

The person I scanned has flavor that is very, well, wind-driven and uninteresting(Definitely arguably percussion related). I am guessing they are town and not a role of note.

I know your last line isn't trying to say what it actually says. But me claiming the scan does benefit scum more than town(Look at the perspective where I'm town), hence why I am not claiming it.

No, not linking yourself to another person only benefits Scum. Because if you're scum you don't have to sell out a buddy. If you're town and you flip town, it doesn't matter who your scan is since it gives no alignment indication. If you flip scum, convenient we don't have somebody to go after.

If I flip town it gives role indication to the person I scanned. Still not necesarily alignment indication.

I don't look at the logic you post for the "if I flip scum" because I know I am town.

You don't know x though. You have a flavor which gives you an idea of a role, but not whether it's a town or scum role. By your own admission it's likely you're just hiding scum based on what you think their power might be.

Its neutral, if they are scum. As I said, the flavor is boring. Most I can do revealing it one way or another pretty much never benefits town but does potentially benefit scum.

I might change my vote. My flavour and my power make perfect sense as justified, regardless of no-meta-ing roles. I've held back from doing so as long as I could, but a flavour scanner (claim) demands that kind of discussion comes up in a game.

Even if scum has no safelist, someone could be forced to claim a different role in order to not have a weirdly discongruent flavour by the existence of a flavour scan on them. If you weren't planning to reveal a scan as town you could have just claimed vanilla, but this much scummier way reads as you wanting people to think you're power without actually committing to anything. Sultan (tried) to track you for example. Who knows, maybe he's sneaker than any of us know and knows who you visited, and you don't know their flavour for whatever reason.

There are reasons people want the damn claim, regardless of how many times you spitefully call people empty headed without logic. If you're town, I'd rather entertain an argument for how not claiming hurts scum because I really don't see it
