Board 8 > Will EVERY major 2020 title after FFVII be delayed cause of Covid?

It sounds obvious to me right now, but Last of Us 2 being delayed indefinitely was the major warning sign, as that was due only a month from now.

It makes sense, right? Anything still in active development (ie, still hasn't gone gold or putting the absolute final touches) is surely in a situation where devs can't finish them on their originally scheduled timelines.

This Animal Crossing/Doom/Resident Evil/Final Fantasy block of releases might very well be the last major block we have for a loooong time.

As long as Trials of Mana and Cold Steel 4 happen this year i ain't too fussed.

Presumably most if not all design work on games can be done remotely (perhaps with a bit of lost efficiency). Some of them will get delayed, but others will probably still come out on time if they gave themselves enough buffer room and nothing else goes wrong.

I picked a great time a few months ago to say "fuck it" and buy essentially every game on my backlog and wishlist, so this might be a blessing in disguise where I can finally catch up with video games.
