Not so much of that but body wide pain that gets worse with weather, stress, hormone fluctuations, etc. Some days it hurts so much I can barely get out of bed and just taking a shower hurts. Like literally the water feels like an assault on my body. Theyve ruled out rheumatoid arthritis and autoimmune diseases (my ANA was positive but too low to be anything). My doctor strongly feels its fibro and Im supposed to see a rheumatologist in a few weeks but who knows if Ill be able to.

After all this time, it's hard to not believe Im a hypochondriac. The weird part is that Im so use to it that, that I can be in pain while still in a decent mood mentally. Which I'd think would complicate something that suppose to be your mind playing into it. Do you ever try to just pretend the pains not real and see if it goes away? You can only go through tests and wait in those hospital rooms for so long before you just wanna say fuck it and salvage what health you still got :/

I totally get that. Ive probably been in chronic pain of some kind my whole life. Most people wouldnt know it because I dont let it stop me from functioning normally. But it takes a lot of effort people dont really realize. Some days I just cant push through though. It took my husband a lot of time to realize that I have bad days and good days because most of the time I make it seem like Im fine. So now he knows when I say today is a bad day so I cant really do xyz I mean it and hell be more helpful. I find myself doing extra on my good days so I can manage bad days better.

I wish I was that responsible. I planned on making the effort before this whole pandemic. But on my good days I usually just do the same things thinking "yay, I can enjoy them more right now" lol. I mean, I live alone and keep up with those responsibilities. I'm also one to hide it in front of others. The only thing I can't hide is my scoliosis pain. I take any opportunity to take a break, to prolong my overall effort. If I max out immediately, I just become useless the rest the time. But I also get kind of snippy when people try to baby me over it lol. Got a very nurturing family. Do you find yourself consciously controlling your irritability when in pain? It's like trying to hide a tell for me.

Physically I feel my age in spite of my illness but mentally I feel like I'm 45 I think cause that's the age group I get along with most

a lot of the time that's out of politeness since people don't want to offend by overestimating (best to err on the side that won't offend)

At least that's true for me, I underestimate bc I don't want to hurt the person's feelings

At least that's true for me, I underestimate bc I don't want to hurt the person's feelings.

I get that, but still some people do look young. When people "underestimate" my age they guess 19-21. I tend to get tons of shocked reactions from people when they find out my real age. Most recent was a new co-worker who thought I was 23, 26 tops.

I would think it was just people being polite if it wasn't the same every single time, from people irl and online.
