I used to play co-op on legendary with a buddy, and we'd reload whenever one of us died. Some of the longer levels took us multiple nights to complete, because the game doesn't let you save in the middle of a level in co-op.

Halo is still one of the smoothest and most entertaining shooters available.

Man, I'm stuck on this one part where I have to steal a ghost and go up this pyramid, but literally all I have on my person is a plasma pistol and a rocket launcher with only 2 rockets >_> I've died like 10 times so far lol

Hunters are pretty easy >_> They're easy to dodge and shoot.

In the OG game you could just run around behind them and one shot them in the orange spot with the pistol

Holy cow, this assault on the control room level is so long

you can totally do the slide down the side of the mountain to skip like the whole level. its really tough but very rewarding. pretty sure its the only way to beat the level under par time

You can steal the banshee too. Or at least you could in the OG game. I never could get it to work in the MCC game.

if you havent already, at the bottom of the spire in like the little ravine there is tons of ammo and guns

you can still do it. I got it to work once in like 10 tries the other day. then I forgot where to go once I was in the banshee so I had to reload a checkpoint anyways haha

Phew! I found a secret area that had a bunch of rocket launcher ammo and was able to scrap by. I'll do 343 Guilty Spark later

Did 343 guilty spark. I did not expect to fight zombies in Halo >_> Fun mission tho. The flood are a joke. Super easy to kill and barely do any damage. The only threat is if I lose my shields, then my health goes down quickly I guess

I'm glad they are easy, as others said they suck. There's a Flood mission in 3(I think, it's been a long time, don't even have a X console, or gaming PC) that is difficult, and a real pita.

You'll change your mind very quickly on the next level.

The shotgun is your best friend for every single encounter with the Flood. The Assault Rifle is also very nice to have for Infection forms. The Plasma pistol is very useful against them as well, although it's also great against every other enemy in the game too. The only weapon that is surprisingly near useless against the Flood is the sniper rifle. Logically it does make sense of course. The Flood are an organism that you eradicate by destroying as much of its body as possible. Precise piercing shots wouldn't be as useful.

CE's weapon sandbox is overall quite good in campaign. The Needler is the only weapon that I'd say is straight up bad. It got much better in the sequels.

I just finished the campaign on heroic with my brother earlier this week. Still an awesome game. I dont mind the flood but I miss having the AI marines in the second half, they give the game a more upbeat starship troopers vibe.

I'll do the Library when I get home from work today

you literally have to speedrun it to beat it on solo legendary. theres a few sections of the level where it forces you to wait by the door while he goes to do some shit. sometimes there will be a crack in the door and you can grenade bounce thru it. other times you can hide in a specific area behind a wall and the flood wont attack you. the flood on legendary are a god damn nightmare

Biggest hurdle is identifying shotgun and rocket launcher Flood before they kill you. Other than the occasional one shot, I didn't think the Library was too bad. Overstayed its welcome, though.

I think I finally got it solo on like my 3rd try after hours. It was actually kinda fun in a meticulous way. Each individual checkpoint is almost like it's own level. On some of the harder ones I would have to try them maybe 50 times, spending each time perfecting my strategy for getting through it. One false move and I'd have to start over. There was a certain fun in the challenge of being perfect.

I think Cairo Station is harder than The Library though. That one's probaby the hardest one to me.

To be fair I'd argue that every single mission in Halo 2 on Legendary is more difficult than The Library on Legendary. Cairo Station is one of the stand-outs too.

The Plasma Pistol also works against every enemy, and of course it's the most ubiquitous weapon. It does lose a bit of its luster as an actual weapon when you turn on certain skulls, but on plain old Legendary it's almost always worth carrying. Since plasma weapons stun enemies in the first game, both of them have something unique going for them compared to everything else. I prefer the Plasma Pistol because the Rifle overheats more easily and it obviously lacks the overcharge.

I didn't mind TnR too much, but I rationed out my sniper shots for maximum efficiency. Once you're out the level gets a lot harder.

The ammo lying around allows you to potentially carry the weapon through the entire mission at least. It's definitely a difficult level, but it wasn't the one that personally gave me the most trouble. That for me is a toss-up between Two Betrayals and Keyes.

Two Betrayals has the most Rocket Flood in the game, and it's very difficult if you actually go around intent on killing everything. Lots of open areas where you're very vulnerable. And the indoor sections are obviously cramped.

Keyes is difficult mainly because of the end where you fight a ton of Spec Ops Elites . Those guys are tough. Oddly, had a significantly more difficult time doing that co-op than I did by myself.

Two Betrayals is a lot of fun actually. Yeah it's literally just Assault on the Control Room backwards, but fighting the Covenent and the Flood at the same time and watching them fight each other too is really cool.

Though I'm stuck on this last part where you're in this GIANT open area with flood and banshees and turrets everywhere just shooting everyone and I just get sniped constantly by something >_>

I just did that part a couple of days ago in Legendary. Just drive a Ghost behind the gigantic rocks behind the parked Banshees and make sure that the Covenant are (mostly) occupied with the Flood. Then make a mad dash on foot to one of the Banshees and get the hell out of there. It's definitely tough, but it was easier once I remembered that I didn't have to kill everything.
